And how would they prove someone is hired based on their appearance? Is there a European court rating that measures the attractiveness of individuals and compares it to their professionalism? Cause I have question regarding butts for them.
Well, I was simply referring to all of those gropers and abusers as I’m pretty sure that can fall under sexual harassment and sexual harassment can earn you some nice jail time.
But what I wanted to say is that it’s very naive to think that people do not get the job based on superficial reasons ALL THE TIME, regardless of the country or the company, because if you have 5 people who could technically do that job and you wish to hire one of them that happens to be a hot woman, no one can stop you if you are in a position to decide on that. And people do that, all the time.
I realized after reading through comments that for jokes which are vastly common among the men and which are often said in-front of other men, regardless of you believing that is not, we are going to lack strong people.
It is. At this point, I am just looking how no one is paying attention that “victims” can now invent all kinds of crap. This is what whole thing is turning into - “Once, one of the devs passed next to me and he told me that I look good and I KNOW I AM FAT AND UGLY SO WHAAAAAA PUNISH HIM FOR SARCASM THAT I AM MISINTERPRETING WHICH NEVER HAPPENED BUT IT…IT COULD HAVE!!!”
That is not for you to decide.
Usually, those things can only be proven with witness testimony. There is no need to measure the attractiveness of individuals, only to have enough people to testify that this person hires based on that premise, which shouldn’t be hard because usually, people who do this do not keep their mouths shut.
Thing is they are. Most companies have investigations when stuff like this happens because there are many, MANY people who try to take advantage of the current social trend that finds it offensive to be skeptical about accusations if the victim is the right typse of person or the alleged aggressor is. But if they can dump the blame on one person and save themselves they will without hesitation.
That is for me to decide because of your stupid and fantasy response. Get out of your parents home and have a look at the real world.
In the unlikely event they admit it, which rarely happens, it’s VERY hard to prove without a testimony and you can never actually introduce it in court as anything else aside discrimination and not based on looks, but rather on age, gender, race and anything else.
You can still not prove it because it’s not TANGIBLE evidence. Let’s say I’m a manager and I hired an attractive woman that happened to be on par with other candidates and I did it strictly because of her looks. In case anyone confronts me about it, I can point out her good CV, and I can say that I really liked her response when asked question X they like to ask at job interviews and as a hiring professional I can make up all sorts of things as to why I did what I did and absolutely no one would punish me for it. At the end of the day, the world will continue revolving around the Sun, my company is gonna continue making money and one person will get the job. It’s really not possible to prove.
No, it is not and I like your assumptions. Very cute. Now, go back to corner and cry.
Yeah.
You are assuming that is the only crime againts him. If that was true then sure, there is no change to admit that confession in court. But usually sexual predators does not commit just one single crime, so probably this accusation would be the less of his problems.
You are obviously about 12 years old from your responses. You have a few years to go kid until your ignorance will fade a little. Go play with your toys and let the adults discuss what’s actually happening in the real world.
Lol adults. Lol assuming again. Okay
No, someone who would hire a hot woman based on her look is not on itself a sexual predator, but what is described by the OP quotes is someone who I quote “was observed by employees groping inebriated female employees at company events” among other accusations is clearly a sexual predator, which means we must question other actions he has in the job with other female employees including his methods to hire those women.
Basically I am not saying that he is a sexual predator only for his method to hire women, I said he is a sexual predator for the other accusations and therefore that give validity to accustions for hiring women only based on looks.
You are a random anonymous internet poster. There is no way anyone could give validity to your experience, because you can’t prove your experience is real. The same applies to me of course.
Read again my posts. I never said that anyone could go to court just with that claim.
Most funny *hit I have ever read here.
Fair enough. You can always do your own research and see how accurate my assessment was, if you feel like it of course.
And yeah, you never specified that EU courts would condemn someone for hiring pretty or ugly people, you said discrimination based on appearance, which is correct, but given the title of this thread, you could maybe see how I might have gotten confused.
You know, back in BfA, I remember saying that Blizzard needs to stop their crap before it became the cool thing to hate them.
Now no matter what, however big, however small, they are the laughing stock of games.
They are the Britney Spears of gaming now back in 2000s.
They had it coming.
I never said it is possible for someone to be condemned in any court for just discrimination based on appearance alone, because such a claim can only be proven with witness testimony and that claim is not strong enough to declare someone guilty, or even to be admitted in court.
What I said is that if that claim is brought to trial probably means there are bigger accusations against that person, which, therefore, gives credibility to this minor accusation, and probably even if in the best interest of this person to admit the minor accusations.
For example what it is in the OP posts, in the OP posts there are accusations that define a sexual predator and those accusations are much worse than hiring discrimination, if such accusations are proven in court we should question any other actions that this person has with women in work, like his hiring methods.
Oh, one of my favourite argument tricks. “You can do the research if you want” = “I have no evidence for my random claim”.
I mean, it’s even a meme now.
These sorts of posts are getting out of hand. There is no way of knowing what is what. It’s just too easy to make assumptions. The press isn’t exactly helping and is just a bit like flies around poo. It is the current hot potato. SO everyone and their dog is chucking their unfounded opinion in on layers of unfounded “facts”.
I feel its time to draw a line under it for now and let the courts and Blizzard sort it out for themselves. Alll this hearsay actually takes away from any real issues and just clouds what the actual facts maybe.
