Blizzard was hiring females based on how attractive they are

I wonder how they’ll try to defend this practice in court.

Yeah, no wonder we have an in-game Horde-bias maintained by Blizzard, when they even in person have standard of behaving like a bunch of vile Orcs storming through the Dark Portal looking for cubicles to crawl and females to grope…

I mean it’s bad if true, but at the same time the CTO was fired for doing this.

a company should be allowed to hire and fire anyone for any reason.

People who live in Elvyn Forest (Goldshire) should not throw stones.

I would too if I had a business with spots that require no quaoifications whatsoever.

So you are saying he was incorrect in what he said ?

His “joke” was attempting to downplay sexual assault in a professional workplace as if it’s something to laugh about. Women can not give consent when the alternative is losing their job.

It’s actually a rather hypocritical thing for a lot of businesses because basically every business hires based upon attractiveness to some degree so it would be a rather moot point.

This is not the case in Europe. Discrimination based on appearance is punishable by law.

Your ability to earn food should not be dependent on how good you look, but how capable you are for the position.

Agreed, but it’s up to the prosecutors to prove that hiring is based on looks.

I would love to say that it’s suprising, but at this point i’m just waiting for the next thing that comes out about them.

When you think it is finished it just get deeper and deeper … hmm what is next ?

You obviously don’t have a real job.

First of all, that is IMPOSSIBLE to prove.

Also, I can assure you that good looking women are aware of how attractive they are and are often using it to their advantage, at least most of them. Not saying they do not possess the qualifications required for the job, however knowing when to blink their pretty eyes at the person deciding on whether she gets the job or not is kind of something that happens since the beginning of times.

Look, these guys are creeps, that’s the truth and for that and their horrible practices they should rot in jail. But pretending like attractive women did not use it to their advantage whenever possible is just lying to yourself.

P.S. “The ability to earn food” is kind of a dumb thing to say because you’re applying for a prestige job with a wage that’s way above just feeding yourself. Being a game developer pays a lot better than cutting ham in a supermarket or washing toilets in McDonalds. So it’s not like Blizzard or any big company owes someone a chance for a job.

Nope, there is a difference between civil and criminal law. Jail time is normally reserved for severe criminal cases.
