Blizzard, when will the ability to replace sounds be returned?

It is no longer possible to replace sounds in WoW. This is very annoying especially for hunters using guns as the default sounds are absolute crap.

There have been 0 updates from Blizzard on when this will be fixed if at all, could we please have an update Blizzard? The face that the thread linked is no longer pinned worries me that you have finished looking into it after adding a couple of bits to the API to mute sounds which is not what we want.

I have really lost faith in Blizzard in this expansion and this is just yet another thing that restricts player control.

So the “addon” for annoying sounds to mute them (forgot its name) doesn’t work anymore?

I’ve worked around the gun noises on my hunter by transmogging her wep to a bow, maybe that’s not what you prefer but it’s a working workaround for the moment.

Since i’m a CSGO player as well , im using the AWP on my Hunter.

Sad thing is , the sounds when firing are literally made for kindergarden children.
Makes no sense at all.

Many other players will think its a stupid/no sense tweak but its ruining the immersion for me.
Its not a sound for a gun firing bullets…
Not even close.

More like a 5 yo toy?
Can we get a fix?

You’re not modifying anything. It acts as a redirect to sounds you place in a different folder so it plays these instead. Blizz have confirmed since 2010 that this is allowed and in the post linked confirmed it is still allowed but they have unintentionally broken it

Yeah, guess I just read the post above and assumed you want to mute stuff.

Also thought you would be maybe able to just redirect the sound via the code, but nope, it’s just for muting.

Yes, please bring back this option, specifically so the Error Sounds Be Gone addon / download can function again. Or at least add a toggle.
