Every xpac hunters receive new models for their pets, new pet families both exotic and non exotic. While we still have only 5 demon archetypes, and only couple of glyphed variants for them
Imp has updated model from Legion.
Has several color variations that is not avaliable for warlocks.
Fel imp(glyph) has outdated TBC model.

Has several models that is not avaliable for warlocks - Matriarch, Subversia(has several color variations can’t find them on WoWhead but in model viewer you can find 4 additional skins), and shivarras from the coven.
I remember reading (can’t remember if it was a blue post, or just a comment, or wowhead post) that we can’t be like hunters in terms of pets, because we summon demons from the Nether and then dismiss them. We don’t actually “own” them, so to speak. We take them, then put them back.
However, I do agree, and locks have been asking this question for a long time. I would like to see customizable demons.
Lore wise i agree that we can’t have dozens of pets, but all i ask is to add updated models for demons. Ok mage them trough glyph or me as a warlock being able to customise particular demon, it still will be that demon that i summoned but with updated model, that’s it.
Wyrmtongue’s look pretty cool, so I was hoping they’d somehow implement them into Demos.
But yeah, the customisation on the current ones are kinda meh. Like do you want a Voidwalker, or a Voidwalker with red shoulder pads.

But it was not for the kind of demons but it was a thread about “naming” a demon.
The hunters befriend pets so they give them names.
We enslave demons so can’t give them names.
But hey, we can already “enslave demon” so this confirms we can have other demons, just make them permanent!
I don’t see how “enslave demon” can’t simply act as tame. Pet for you guys, say to keep the lore / theme you can have one type of. Each demon as you do now but. You enslave the skin /. Model that you like
The disappointment from Legion that we didn’t get any of the new cool demons as skins/CDs. We got Fel Lord for PvP which is a garbage waste of talent slot in BFA and tyrant, some random demons from demon portal/inner demons but the first talent is unbeliavbly clunky to use and the latter is meh compared to the other choises.
A completely new demon role is something I have been wanting since wotlk.
Mages get a new glyph for water elemental everytime they make a new model. There’s about 5 different models. You should be able to at least glyph to similar demons.
As for hunter models, they are updated because they are linked to npc animal models. For example, when they made new hyena’s for voldun they updated all the hyenas in places like the barrens with the new models. They are still some 2006 animal models dotted around mind.
