Blizzard's Baleful Boosts unBalance the Bedrock of our Beloved game

i really dont want to be mean, but did you read what he said ? He explained the nature of this number and it makes sense, just because of the way classic is monetised.

Revenue will drop after shadowlands comes out, because the expansion costs money.
Dunno whether anybody realises that :man_shrugging:

Did he/she just proofed that to the teeth?

Then ask for beloved corporation to release their monthly data as they did back then before WoD so we can see the ultimate “proof”.
I have seen shadowlands myself with almost all cities and quest hubs being empty, I have seen Nielsen’s report, I have watched like 15 videos this week from famous content creators basically saying that SL is in a terrible situation.

There is all the proof you can get.

NO NOT SO FAST. ITS NOT TRUE lel

Here, a bit of “proof” from one of the most famous Blizzard fan youtubers in the entire universe.

I saw that and i was shocked that the blizzard whiteknight himself has the same solution in mind that i have.

I’d love to see it myself, but they’d likely keep the subscriptions together.(Classic+tbc+shadowlands, so you wouldn’t see who’s playing what)

Shadowlands is in a terrible situation, I’ve quit it myself.(Due to the mechanics of the game + lack of content for 6 months)
But this comes down to the fact that retail is heavily sharded, so you’re seeing a lot less people than is actually in that area.
Think 1 month ago I logged on and the SL main hub was heavily populated still.

But in the end, everyone’s assuming everything without any numbers from Blizzard themselves.

I’m aware that shadowlands is just as bad as BFA, the main point was that the subscriptions are considered the same :man_shrugging: (So the sub number isn’t really useful to go by) -
Cash shop revenue can be inflated by the same people purchasing the items however though. (One person purchasing 4-5 transfers is worth more than somebody purchasing 1 sub) - So if dozens/hundreds purchase these in one month and nobody buys the next month, the revenue will drop.

It’s similar with people wanting classic+, do they actually expect Blizzard to bring good content for it? lol.

It’s a ridicilous assumption to claim everyone that’s gonna start tbc can afford the boost or would be willing to buy it and that all those that wont, play classic allready and have their lvl 60 reado for the opening of the dark portal.

You can literally level a character now, if you wanted to a level 60 for the opening of the dark portal.

There’s no price tag on the boost yet, you don’t need to purchase the boost either.
You’ll have three set of people.

  1. People who have already leveled their mains(non blood elves/tentacle people)
  2. People waiting for the boost.
  3. People leveling their main right now / waiting for pre patch.

If you’re waiting until TBC comes out to level your character to 60, wouldn’t that be your own fault?

thats a very good antibooster statement, IAM SO PROUD

I am leveling an alt atm for TBC xD.

Mixing between boosting in dungeons / doing some quests whilst no mage friend is available.
If the boost(to 58) remains, it will be used though ;p

Blizzard’s game designers are educated in a university for years, they have experience, unbelievable amounts of resources, best tech and everything at their disposal. It’s not that they make these convoluted garbage systems out of stupidity.

They do them just to keep players busy, in an unnatural way. Why? Because there is no other actual, authentic MMORPG elements left in the game. Levelling is a side dish, you get so many boosts from expansions anyways so you aren’t invested in your characters. Then you can buy more boosts too. Since you didn’t invest any time in a character, you don’t develop a connection with them. I don’t even remember many of my character’s names on retail, and I got them at level 50+ already. I only remember my main and one alt’s character name, can you imagine? You develop this connection when either levelling or going through a tedious grind.
There is no social environment. Since there is no social environment, you don’t make friends or get to know people. Everything is one click of a button away, you instantly enter a dungeon through LFG or LFR, then never talk to anyone except talking shi to them when they make a mistake. Then you don’t develop trust with other players. What does this lead to? You evaluate everyone by their RIO score or gear score.
Itemization sucks and everything is the same 4 stats repeat of itself. You know why? Because they want the reward system to be around mounts and cosmetics. That is why almost half of their team is working 24/7 on new shop mount models and not the game.

It’s a ridicilously toxic environment of a single player themepark game with no social fabric, all the systems and everything in the game is tailored to keep you buying things or services in the cash shop. There is absolutely nothing fulfilling in the game.
The times I played it, I didn’t even look around and see what gear other people were using anymore. Because everyone looks lika a super hero with flashy transmogs, even the orc dude with a green shoulders that give int and spirit has this insane looking xmog from the cash shop that makes him look like the grandfather of Garrosh.

This is the core of the problem. It is not a coincidence that game systems suck, it is a very conscious decision that is made by a very smart and experienced, billion dollar company.

And this is exactly why they are trying to find a crack to put cash shop into TBCC. Because everyone with any knowledge or experience knows that once the cash shop enters this game, everything will be tailored to redirect you to the cash shop.
