Blizzards Ban System

That would require hiring more staff, but automated CS is here to stay. There is no reason for them to change it.

There have been a lot of people in the past who claimed “I didn’t do anything wrong” only for it to be a lie, but it does happen where people really are innocent and it becomes a nightmare to get unbanned. I wish OP success.

Until AI gets good enough to do this task , we are likely stuck with this automated cs copy pasting some standard texts

That’s why I’ve said “the only way to improve the situation is when enough people quit the game”. QA and CS are departments that don’t directly generate income, which is why they are often the first to receive budget cuts or are externalised altogether. If there is a measurable decrease in profits due to the lack of QA and/or CS, they will need to react and at least marginally improve the situation.

Edit:
The biggest example of this would be Mercedes Benz during the Daimler-Chrysler era. Build quality has decreased significantly in this time, leading to a massive loss in customer satisfaction and, in consequence, customers. For the 2010s they cut back on profits to greatly improve build quality and were able to win back a great deal of customers due to having an objectively better product. But this would never had happened if they hadn’t lost the customers in the first place.

So in this line of reasoning enough people would need to quit the game and state “poor customer service” or “lack of quality control” as the reason.

If what you say is true that you are running a mix of programs on your computer while playing WoW, if you are able to identify which program(s) it is you should be able to submit a ticket. Assuming theose programs are not hacking tools, you should be able to explain what programs those were and that you are innocent.

The WoW client’s anti-cheat system called ”Warden” is known to collect info on your computer such as what programs you run and are running. It is possible that you ran a program for example that can be used for memory editing or a hacking tool for a different game.

some people got banned for using Overwolf app
or AHK ( auto hot key )

so if you are using those , that might be why

Probably the tracking software that flagged your account.
Also if you develop this kind of software, shouldn’t you’ve already experienced that on other services? The refreshes alone might trigger security software… as it is quite the bot like behavior.

Just keep at it till you can talk to a human, be very clear how and when you use WoW. Mention the work stuff, VPN (shouldn’t be a problem but be thorough). I’m sure its a false positive and if you can make that point your account will be fine.

What, i hope not cos that just updates addons and it comes with curseforge app. Updating addons manually one by one would be very old school. I thought almost all have curseforge app so far for all the dozen addons wow need too, that would mean over half of playerbase would get faultly actioned. I dont believe they would for overwofl or hope not!

i cant link here, but if you google it, multiple people were getting banned for it,
not sure why

maybe there was an overlay issue ?

Must be something else, almost everyone use curseforge app to manage their addons. I dont think anybody updates addons one by one anymore from the site without software doing it. That would be so silly and huge pain to even start process of appealing too, I sincerely hope thats some urban legend.

The Software we are developing has nothing to do with Gaming. It monitors betting sites for football. And not it does not do any hacks or anything with the memory. And i am not a Developer. I am some kind of Project Manager for this.

That does not matter, false positives usually don’t impact or have anything to do with other systems… yet they get flagged. I mean, you work with developers… how can you not have any experience like this.

I’m a former Network Engineer/DB-Designer/System Admin. I close certain programs that have nothing to do with WoW or gaming because I know there is a chance they might flag my account.

Also, betting sites… yikes.

Anywho, the point being: be a bit more mindful what you run. Especially when at work.

With WoW in particular, you have to be careful with what programs you have running in the background. Like Shopkeeper said, it doesn’t matter if they’re not gaming related. You’ll get flagged in some way or another for automated gameplay. This is why for years now the advice a lot of people give is not to play WoW on work computers because of how high the chance is you’ll get a false positive ban.

I use ahk for work, i now banned with my girl, who use my scripts to. I think that real bots and cheaters compile scripts and remain unpunished…

Nope.there should not be any problem with a vpn .
