I mainly play the game to collect cosmetics and I love playing my monk but there’s very few transmog sets.
Over the last few expansions they have made other classes sets available for transmog but only partially.
I wanted the shadowlands zeroth mortis rogue set tier appearance but the helm is available in one colour, the chest in another but what’s weird is I have access to most of the Druid set and demon hunter set. It’s the same in bfa I wanted the Druid set but it’s only partially available and only certain colours.
Would it really break the game if other classes could have access to other classes appearances?
Another frustrating point is in the transmog sets window it doesn’t show non tier or pvp sets making it a pain to see what you have collected without an add on. Set to get worse with grey and white items.
Wow is a game with few cosmetic options so it would be nice to access more. I even think some classes should get access to multiple armour types.
Monk could easily have cloth and leather (mail at a push)
Paladins could have mail and cloth.
Shaman plate etc
It’s like my kul tiran dk has the heritage armour which is clearly leather yet if I wanted that full undead pirate I don’t have access to the cool pirates leather sets from bfa or the undead leather sets from the under water questing areas in bfa.
Another point is the orc sets from wod could easily be cosmetic as the frost wolf set is leather but would suit a shammy and a warrior.
I would complain about challenge mode items not being available as there’s some nice items there that would suit newer allied races but as someone who has some of the mage tower weapons I’d hate to lose exclusiveness but I am not sure if it’s fair for players that didn’t play at the time.
One last thing, the brewmaster monk artifact that has the bottle or lantern hanging off them. Maybe more of those please?
Personally, I like that every class gets their own identifying set.
During BFA when we had Cloth, Plate, Mail, Leather and that was it, I personally was advocating for Class sets to return again because Class identity is really important in the game.
So no, abosultely not. I think Class Sets, and Armour Types should be locked to their Class or Armour type.
I agree with that. But there are options out there.
My Evoker is rocking the Uldir Mythic Mail set, which I think is very on Theme for a Titan influenced Race.
I think more could be done for new classes, yes.
Sure the Sepulcher ones were a little hit or miss. Mainly because the first ones theme was trash. But still they should be working towards each set being Identifiable per Class.
They have done a better job if it with the VoI sets, and hopefully they’ll do a better job of it again in the next raid tier.
It failed miserably if you ask me though. Sepulcher sets & Vault sets scream ‘The current expansion theme’, and have almost nothing to do with the class fantasy, atleast in my eyes.
Not really. The majority of early sets, or let’s say until T10 (ICC), has class fantasy written over it. It was in Cata where it started becoming abit more ‘raid thematic’. Sure nothing wrong with it, but it’s just an observation
True af. Nothing to even add here. My favourite ones aswell, although I’d maybe add T5 in it. Some T5 sets were incredible (shaman, priest, druid, mage come to mind the most).
Wildstar’s restriction-free outfits, in combo with dyes, really allowed you to be creative with a character’s personality. That was peak transmog.
“Class identity” in WoW is already muddled by cosmetic sets.
A Warrior can use the Maldraxxus Set + a staff and pretend to be a necromancer in cloth.
An Alliance Mage can dress up as a Stormwind Guard, which is obviously plate.
Most, if not all, Heritage sets scream a particular armour-type or is sometimes a blend of two, but I dare anyone to look at Mag’har Heritage and proclaim “that’s cloth!” or Vulpera and say “Plate!”
Anyone can just hide all slots and use only the tight Venthyr leather trousers.
Unless they’re specific class raid/pvp sets, I say let players go nuts. Still kinda bummed my Shaman can’t use the same mask as my Druid, just because it’s “leather” (and cloth). Darkspear Heritage ASAP, thanks!
I mean, having Class fantasy is always best. But it doesn’t need to be Class Fantasy every time. That’s all I’m saying. But it’s definitely time we had some Class fantasy sets.
As someone with 3 Mail wearing toons. I completely feel your pain. I’m lucky enough to have found 3 sets which suit them (Mag’har Shaman - Arathi Warfront Elite set, Orc Hunter (formerly undead) - Darkshore Warfront Elite set, Dracthyr Evoker - Uldir Mythic set - just realised they were all BFA sets)). But man, that was tough deciding on something for them to wear.
