Players wanted Mechagnomes, they got Junker Gnomes (later renamed Mechagnomes).
Players wanted Tinkers, they got Evokers.
Players wanted a South Seas expansion, they got BfA.
Players wanted Northrend 2.0, they got Shadowlands.
Players wanted Alliance heroes Turalyon and Alleria back, they got a bland zealot and a void-corrupted monster.
Players wanted housing, they got Garrisons.
Players wanted Forest Trolls, they got Zandalari.
Players wanted Sethrak, they got Vulpera.
Players wanted a world revamp, they got Dragonflight.
Players wanted a new underwater zone, they got a drained one in Nazjatar.
Players wanted Wildhammer Dwarves, they got two feathers for the Bronzebeard and some tattoos.
The list goes on.
Obviously, they’ve also introduced a bunch of nice things. They’re continuing with Heritage armour sets, the Trading Post is cool, and most people seem happy with where the game is at.
But sometimes you just wonder if there’s somebody with a huge ego over there, listening to player feedback but insisting on knowing better.
That’s fair criticism, and I agree, it sucks when people pretend to speak for others in order to give their argument more weight.
In this case, I meant more as a general “here’s what was asked for, here’s what was given”-kinda thing. Not that literally everybody asked for it. But fair point nonetheless.
I think you’re quite off with some of the examples, but generally I agree with the sentiment. I also think it’s often a resource issue and certain things reserve workforce over others to a point where they’re forgotten about.
Don’t mind the “don’t speak for me” crowd. The forums have a ton of Karens.
