Blizzards "quality" is more and more going downhill

Why should they put effort, time and money to try giving the playerbase good content?

I would do exactly the same as Blizz.
Without effort just re-releasing old content while putting stuff in the Shop.

Big Money without doing work.
But to be fair, Plunderstorm was not that bad.

I never get these “i’m leaving” posts. It’s a video game, it’s ok to stop playing it, it’s ok to play other games, it’s ok to resub to try out the game in the future, it’s ok to quit forever. It’s not just ok, it’s completely normal to do all of these.
I think the quality isn’t too bad on retail, season 4 did have a few well know bugs go through to live, but… Cata/Remix/Season 4 are all run by smaller teams, not the main one that’s working on TWW, that being said it is amazing what these teams achieved. Keep in mind, these are all extra things we get for essentially the same sub and expecting 3 fully fledged teams on par with the main team would be a bit unreasonable. While i do agree with Cata players about quality concerns, in terms of retail, would you honestly prefer just sitting around for 6+ months waiting for the next xpac? Neither season 4 nor remix are perfect, but they are a lot better than anything (a.k.a. nothing) we got in the past and i honestly do like this “put a smaller, less experienced team together and give the players something to do” mentality.

Edits are mostly spelling mistakes, typing on phone is hard.

“blizzard quality” hasn’t been a thing since legion LOL

What point are you measuring from? I remember WoD when they gave up on the expansion less than half the way through, so no patches at all, all they provided was a massive fight over flying.

Funnily enough I disagree because of Mop Remix and the other events they have done, in my eyes I see these as wild ideas that have yet to be fine tuned and will have a positive impact on the retail experience, either by learning from their mistakes or by improving what we enjoy about these wild excursions we seem to be getting.

Personally TWW is for me atleast an incredibly important expansion, since the past expansions and metzen returning, I have many reason to hold out hope. Should this fail though, that will be the end of the line for me as far as lore goes tbh.

At first, I wanted to voice opinion that these kinds of posts are crazy, like why invest yourself emotionally so much that you care to feel sad about quality or changes or whatever in this obviously corporate game.

But then I realized I got my beloved car and my waifu, and so I am humbly accepting OP’s post and wish him only the best and let’s hope WoW revs up to great torque again for him.

I wanted to share my thoughts because I’ve been playing Blizzard games for a long time. I returned after a 1-2 year break around Shadowlands, hopeful that the developers had learned from past mistakes. However, it seems they haven’t, especially considering the changes in Remix. Many mechanics that players disliked and wanted removed during Shadowlands are making a return in some form.

It’s evident that about 95% of the changes in Remix are designed to artificially extend the time needed to earn rewards, likely to ensure subscriptions for all three months. Despite their claims of having learned their lesson, and some initial positive changes in Dragonflight, the core philosophy remains the same as it was in Shadowlands and BFA. Their top priority is making money, with everything else taking a backseat.

On a personal note, the Frogger nerf hit me hard. I wasn’t abusing it like many others who also got punished, which showed me how little they value the player experience. The support team provided the same copy-paste response, claiming they had “carefully reviewed” the issue. They suggested that if I was unhappy, I should voice my concerns in the forum.

This was disappointing, especially when there are hundreds of reports of players being unjustly punished while many actual abusers went unscathed. Despite this being a widespread issue, we have received no communication from @lynxi or @kaivax, or anyone else, for that matter. The last communication on Reddit was over eight years ago, and Watcherdev on Twitter has been silent for nearly five years. On this forum, the only updates are hotfixes or patch notes.

In a game where you can lose 3-4 days of progress due to an unjust punishment, with no recourse or communication, it’s disheartening. There’s no compensation for their mistakes, which killed my interest in investing time in a game where my progress can vanish due to bad luck.

This is my personal experience, but I’ve seen many similar reports in recent months. Those who played during the Cataclysm classic pre-patch and release likely remember similar issues, again with no communication.

First of all this isnt blizzard since 2009…

I have to agree with you on the state of the releases.

Classic cata came with quite a few bugs that i ran into. Most related to vehicle use or quests that altered your UI in some way.

MoP bugs or wrong fully coded condionals got me stuck on the boat after about 15 quests. The only way i could play MoP Remix was to delete the character and start over or wait for a fix which may never come.

Stability of the client has always been good. That is one thing that blizzard has been very good about. Their client almost never CTD’s. I think in all the time ive played since 2010 i can count the times i had a CTD on one hand. Not using all fingers either. Maybe 3 times i CTD. Maybe. Prolly 2 to be fair.

I have also noted that lately when skills or things are earned on my character they are not instantly granted but have to go through some sort of blizzard granting and authorizing process before i am allowed to use earned skill. I have earned things and not been able to use them right away. Really weird stuff. Sometimes it took logging out to get said skill.

There is a difference in “wasting” time in, say, war thunder for example, and wow. In WT you sit in a que for not very long at all. Less than a minute for sure and then spend the next 15 min killing people.

In wow time is “wasted” waiting in most cases and this is soley due to game designs that promote the subscription model. Daily crafting cooldowns. Weekly M+ chests. Raid lock outs, Dungeon lock outs, crafting lockouts via CD. Flight point times - which is my biggest beef with blizzard.

The game has to be spread out over time to be finacially profitable is my guess. So the game has lots and lots of time gates and jsut gates in general to slow down your play for the sake of a subsctiption.
