Adjustments when?
Damage is lower than HALF of Arms Warrior right now.

Agreed. Fire is terrible. Everyone in the NA was too focussed on a bug than pushing for fire.
Itās just numbersā¦ so thereās hope.
They had multiple feedbacks on Beta for Fire Mageās tuning on how bad it is, and we even have hero talents there lol.
I also canāt wait to see the playersā reaction for Gravity Lapse once the expansion starts.
Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssā¦
SUCCUMB TO THE VENOM!!!
Buff Hyperthermia proc or change it to be an active.
70 is the new 60, everyoneĀ“s current damage is irrelevant because all of our skills are tuned around the hero talents weĀ“ll be getting next week so as to be balanced when we hit level 80.
What youĀ“re asking for is essentially to forego endgame balance just to make people that arenĀ“t maxlevel yet (but are still hilariously overpowerd for the content theyĀ“re currently running) feel more equal.
IĀ“d rather have it be balanced at 80 where it will actually matter in 3 weeks when the season starts.
And using timerunning as a measuring stick is, with all due respect, ultrafail, because timerunning was never about being balanced to begin with.
I see your point, but Fireās ST and damage outside of combustion has been in the bin all through DF. The only time you saw high damage was by people playing it at elite level and even then it was a stretch.
They need to rethink this.
Well, Firemage outside of combustion has been an overcooked noodle ever since the current iteration of Combustion was introducedā¦ I personaly liked it back in cata /MoP the most, where it created the megadot that could be spread (Of course i preferred it, it was disgustingly OP in AE )
This clip is every firemage since the Legion Comb rework

very good
I loved the old iteration of Living Bomb - No CD and fine damage for what it does.
Today we need 10 talents to make 1 spell workā¦
I remember on my Disc priest when Penance and PWS were everything with little to no modifiers. Now you need 3 buffs to have a decent Penance, itās kind of annoying.
Cata prepatch LB was hilarious, because the spread via fireblast was uncapped.
I fondly remember a Thousandwinter battle where we had already breached the keep and I came running in from behindā¦ there was what appeared to be an entire 25+ man group just beyond teh entranceā¦
Living Bomd+ fireblastā¦ and then some absolute genius of priest got the glorious idea to mass dispell them.
Entire team killed with 3 gcds
And 2 days later Living bomb spread was capped to a maximum of 10 targetsā¦ I donĀ“t have the slightest clue why they might have done that :
LMAO
I feel bad for the priest, he was only trying to help
Yeahā¦ but he was horde so he deserved it
But the look on his face when he innocently pressed mass dispell and suddenly his entire screen just erupted in flames and everyone diedā¦ thatĀ“s something I wish I could have seen
I fully understand the need to tune Living Bomb, it was doing an exceptionally high amount of damage initially and the spreading capacity was out of control.
That being said, I do think the changes have made it so the right hand side of the talent tree is now avoided by all fire mages. It has gone from being the top damage source in a 5 minute fight, to the lowest by far.
Just for the sake of showcasing, I did a very quick one minute blast of a target to see what living bomb could do in itsā current state.
in the one minute quick fire target slapping, Pyroblast did 25.5% of my damage with a total damage output of 2.46 million.
Living bomb was second from bottom on the damage sources with a total damage output of 63.9k over 8 hits.
Mirror Images was dead last at 62.4k and I only cast that once obviously.
So Mirror Images Frost Bolt spell casting did almost as much damage as one of what is supposed to be, a good source of damage.
I do hope that adjustments come before the global launch.
Sorry no that excuse got old with the last expac as well.
If everyone is supposed to only be balanced at end game then we should all be doing the same meh dps atm.
The fact some are easily double or more is not acceptable. As your advocating for others to be op just cause reasons.
DonĀ“t put words in my mouth, i can speak just fine without your assistance.
The only thing IĀ“m advocating for is for people to understand that they are using the wrong measuring stick by assuming that their current power level and balance has anything to do with the power level they will have in 2 weeks.
There is no real point, financially or from a gameplay perspective, to having 13+ class designers spending weeks balancing things for sub-max level players in level ranges that people will breeze through in less than an hour.
All it causes is for you to spend more developer time balancing the game for hundreds or even thousands of hours for varying for sub -max level ranges than the entire community of X million players will collectively spend actually playing at that level.
ThatĀ“s akin to setting up the rules and regulations of Formula racing based on the performance of bumper cars and foot powered buggies.
And I am pointing out your measuring stick is the same tired poop various people claimed at the start of dragonflight.
Low and behold mages sucked so bad they had to buff them repeatedly much later in the expansion.
Only to then knee jerk nerf them when evokers came along.
If each class doesnt have its own developer making sure the class is up to snuff at all levels of the gameplay then why is anyone paying money for this game?
Its time to stop pretending that its fine to just trash various classās till they get to max level. Max level in a lot of cases doesnt fix it and you should not have to spend months grinding gear just to do comparitive dps to another class in lesser gear.
Nobody is forcing you.
Nor did I ever say thatā¦ my further participation is not necessary for you to continue to discuss things with yourself. Enjoy your weekend and cya in 2025
Glad you confirmed you have no valid counter points to what was said.
Now if only you had figured this out a bit earlier. You could have avoided wasting both our time.
Come on team. We all want the same thing. Fire to be on par with Frost and Arcane so you can play the Mage spec you want.
Donāt be like us Warlocks who always argue. Weāre still on the whole ācaster based interruptā issue that we complained about and now complaining we want it back.
The issue lies with the base talent tree not providing enough base damage for fire mages. Yes, itās pre-patch, but it is still very poor design to make a build completely reliant on hero talents and certain secondary thresholds to be an effective damage dealer, and then say, āChill, itās pre-patch.ā Additionally, having bad damage in the base talents carries all the way into The War Within, as the base damage ratio compared to other builds does not magically improve upon hitting max level. If weāre 30% behind now, weāre going to remain 30% behind in the future WHEN looking at the base talent tree and the damage IT provides.
Imo, LB was poorly designed from the beginning, and nerfs were expected; you canāt expect such a brain fart functionality like LB had, to remain unchanged for long.
Itās Blizzardās own fault that they made fire mage what it is now. They put all their eggs in one basket by making Pyroblast the only source of solid damage, and now that damage is 30% behind everyone else. Now, theyāre afraid of buffing that one ability by too much, fearing it could lead to an overkill.
The best solution would be a complete overhaul of the fire mage, eliminating the dependency on that one apple in the basket.
For comparison, I played one M+ run with my DH, who is the same item level as my mage. I threw whatever abilities I had at my foes without any pre-planning or strategy, and with zero effort, I managed to deal roughly 400k overall DPS, with 250-300k single-target DPS. In that group, I was an asset instead of a liability, which is the current state of fire mages. No one wants to be a liability.
