I wouldn’t say they don’t do a version of Cataclysm.
Best to hold off until all announcements are done at Blizzcon for the near future (a year to next Blizzcon)
Literally the bottom right ‘and more to be revealed’.
A poster like that would never list stuff that wasn’t known to the public yet, like an upcoming expansion or, in this case, cata.
We will have cata for certain I believe. Why? One reason: the wow token. No way they released it this ‘late’ into wrath classic for it to die or stagnate in case of no cata. Nah are planning to earn big on this for years to come, and the only way they can do this if they bring it into cata.
It’s like being a kid again and waiting outside the headmaster’s door. Am I going to be punished and have my game taken away from me? Or do I get to keep playing and stay on a Wrath server?
Just do what I did. check Google and find urself a decent blizz like private server running patch 3.# or whatever. I got one on standby just in case Blizz show no sense and force everyone to downgrade to cata crap.
Im not a huge cata fan, but what do you people believe will happen to the game if blizzard say that classic ends with wotlk?
Feels like you all believe everyone will keep playing wotlk for all eternity.
What will happen if they announce no new content will come to classic, is that when icc releases, the popoulation will nosedive, a month or two after icc the pop will gradually get eradicated until about 6 months in there is only the die hard wotlk players remaining which is probably around 5-10% of the players max.
Cata release will also cause people to quit, but to a much lower degree than a full stop at wotlk, it also had the chance of bringing in a new batch of classic fans that are nostalgic for cataclysm.
Going into cata but keeping a few wotlk era servers are the most likely outcome, since that will keep the most players subbed to bring in more money for blizzard.
That’s all we need and want - few WOTLK Classic servers, the rest can progress to Shadowlands Classic, I don’t care.
A lot of posters here seem to want cata to not happen for some selfish reasons, my response was towards them
I WANT PANDALAND. MOP HYPE MOP HYPE
Blizzard can quite literally have their cake and eat it too in this case. Releasing Cata while keeping a couple of Wrath Era servers should be relatively easy, and the entire process has a precedent with Classic Era realms being linked into groups to consolidate the remaining players.
They have a clear cut recipe for success, so it’s all but guaranteed current year Blizzard will mess it up in some way while pissing the maximum number of players off.
In an ideal world, there would be realms for every expansion. Most likely there are fans for every one of them. Even better there would be realms for different rulesets such as hardcore and maybe something else yet to be discovered.
Were Classic, TBC Classic or Wrath Classic previously playable at Blizzcon? I was not really paying attention.
