Block tanking

Hi
So back in the day I remember (though I was merely a youngling) that people tended to stack DODGE sky high when building tanks. I always wondered if it would be viable to stack shield block chance and shield block value instead of dodge for Prot Paladin and Warrior though I think that Prot warrior would be significantly better for this as prot paladin does not have any similar talent to prot warrior’s Shield Mastery (which increases shield block value by 30%) though prot paladin has significantly higher shield block chance due to talents (can hit up to +60%)

Gosh i love theorycrafting

You gain high amount of Dodge passively from the agility on your gear. I remember warriors just geming/enchanting pure stamina.

well, if my memory serves me correctly, then dodge gets hit hard (DR) later in in tbc.
block rating and value, had a decent block value/rating set back in the day, and believe i got to like 900 BV, and like 35% block.
so is BV and BR worth it, maybe later on… but in t4/5 area, then i’d rather go for stam and armor tbh.

I can’t remember so clearly but I know dodge wasn’t as desired as block especially for morogrim was it the guy in SSC you could get 1 shot if you didn’t have shield block up
