Blood Elf Druid

I think that it’s about time that we can play as Blood Elf Druids. In my opinion there are no good-looking races for Horde today that can be a Druid, and with all the strange race- class combinations today I think it’s about time that we can play as one:

  • Night Elf Mage: For thousands of years Night Elves have despised arcane magic, yet somehow they can now be one.
  • Tauren Rogue: That this combination is even possible should be enough to allow all races to play all classes.
  • Lightforged Draenei Death Knight: I have literally no words to write about this, it destroys lore on so many levels.

So I would really like to see Blood Elf Druids in The War Within. Or even if all races could be all classes so that you can play your favourite race without having to feel forced to play a race you don’t like, only because your favourite race isn’t able to play a certain class.

They are currently working on all classes for all races, just gotta wait a bit.

But I feel like druid might be one of the last ones to get this treatment, simply because I hope they give every race unique forms and not just copy paste the already almost outdated night elf and worgen forms

That sounds great that they are working on it, have Blizzard said when this should be released?

I agree with you on the Druid forms, it would be such a sight to for example see new Druid forms from creatures that are native to all races’ homelands.

No unfortunately not, they stated it as a goal and have made a few classes already across all races, like rogue, warlock and priests I think (might be wrong)

The rest are being held back either because the class requires unique racial aspects or doesn’t make sense lore wise.

Yeah that’s my favourite part of being a druid is that you see how each race is represented in blizzards eyes, kul tirans for example I love

As a Demon Hunter, I don’t even want to hear about all races to play all classes :expressionless:

Of all the race class combo issues, this one is likely the only that has been well* explained in game and other media.

The Night Elves did despise the practice of Arcane magic, true indeed. A lot of the arcane mages, left the Night Elves society and settled in the Eastern Kingdoms and eventually became the High Elves.

In Cataclysm I believe, they introduced nelf mages and made a whole little quest thing about how reluctant they were to allow them back in their society and were very suspicious of them.

*I say well, what I really mean is they actually had very small amount of content around it, and din’t just make an update and included it like some other class combos, like the Rogue Tauren.

Now as far druids belfs… If they add some sort of pretty quest chain where you follow some elves that wish to rekindle their old heritage with nature, then sure… Otherwise the current lore simply wouldn’t support it.

This bothers me so much lore wise, but I just learn to ignore this. Considering just how few people choose this race class combo speaks volumes. Majority of Light Forge Draenei are Paladin or Priests.

Personally I don’t like this idea, but I end up sounding like some sort of conservative lore keeper, so I’ve learned to just ignore things that are utter nonsense and will keep doing that for when it comes to pass (mecha-gnome DH :face_vomiting:)

I don’t play DH because I don’t enjoy neither nelf or belf but I still agree with you. Though hear me out… 2 races that could have a strong connection lore wise, and wouldn’t even be that hard to implement: Draenei and High Mountain Tauren. The Draenei have already received their corrupt Eredar colours (even though quest was lame). The HMT have this tribe called the Fel Totem tribe that turned villains, and they had all these awesome fel corrupt skins…

Now imagine a quest where the Illidari are looking for new recruits to fill their waning ranks, how about these 2 fel corrupt races that are full of guilt and without leadership now that the Legion is defeated? Like demon form Draenei would basically look like a mini Kil’Jaiden would be sick! Not sure how the HMT would look like but could look well creepy…

Though even with all that in mind, thinking of these giant, hench and hooved races fel rushing and double jumping everywhere sounds visually jarring, no matter how logical the lore could be.

How can more druids be bad.

I don’t necessarily want every playable race to have access to absolutely everything simply because it risks eroding away interesting and unique racial elements if handled poorly.

That being said, we technically saw an easy path for Blood Elf Druids back in TBC - amongst Kael’thas’ forces some Blood Elves made use of botany. It could be justified through that as well as the simple fact that the Dead Scar remains a problem and nature magic could be something to help mitigate it, potentially.

All right. A little variety wouldn’t hurt. At the beginning I also really wanted something different than Blood Elf, but in the end I fully accepted it. In fact, even if you were stubborn on the side of the horde, the orcs would also be suitable. Something like Kilrogg Deadeye from Hellfire Citadel. It was probably a type of orc that I liked so much in terms of appearance that if they had made something like that, I would have seriously considered changing the race. Draenei with the red skin they got not so long ago would look great and actually be suitable.
However, if I imagine Mechagnome or Vulpera, I would definitely not be in favor of every race getting every class.

NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN

LET QUEL DOREI ALONE

There is enough destroying fantasy in WoW , let my people alone.

it would work in a DnD setting. but blood elf lore is different.

Soon™ - which could mean: next month, next year, 2036, never.

Human druids too. But… Human males need long beards for that imo!!

But can we add flowers to the beard?

We must!!

It’s a fantasy MMO"RP"G. Therefore we should open all races up, for the base non-hero classes.

Players should be able to make up their own backstory, so if for example I wanna play as a Blood Elf who loves nature, and sought out nature magic, I should be able to play as a Druid BE.

Same as wanting to be a Undead Druid, who embraces maintaining the “balance between life and death”.

Or ANY race who wants to be a Shaman… because who shouldn’t they? Our elemental enemies in Dragonflight, were from most playable races.

Keeping lore is important :+1: But there is a BIG difference between player choice when it comes to character and RP, and the story that we play through. :+1: :+1:

Belves could be resto druids with their arcane approach to botanics, as we saw in the TBC dungeons. Although the shapeshifting part is harder to implement with the only Wild Gods around Quel’Thalas are the loa worshipped by the Amani trolls, and that would clearly go out of the elves’ way. Not to mention how Malfurion struggled to overcome the arcane addiction back in the old night elf empire, and how harder it would be for the modern blood elves if they want to mantain enough self-control to shapeshift. So even if it will come, it will be ages after and only if some mighty lore additions get implemented.

Tauren? did you forget about Tauren?

High Elves actually have a closer connection to nature though.
It would make sense if High Elves could not be Warlocks or Death Knights but was allowed to be Paladin - Druids - Shamaan. This way expressing the differences between the High Elves and Blood Elves.
