Blood Infusion solo - what am I doing wrong?

I’ve been trying to solo the Shadowmourne blood infusion, but I have a second account to make things easier on myself (apparently).
Got the quest on a lvl 80 paladin, the alt account has 2 lvl 60s and a 45. Been doing the encounter the way the youtube videos say, relog the alts, bite them with main etc etc, but after I bite the first alt and wait to bite second, the first alt gets mind-controlled and one shots me.

So what am I doing wrong here? The videos i’ve seen, the low level alts dissappear before they get MC’d or they do negligible damage and can be ignored.
Clearly I’m making a mistake here, or there’s some kind of weird scaling related issue going on. None of the alts are in Chromie time, they’re wearing no gear & have been switched to off-spec with no talents allocated.

Can anyone help me figure out what’s up here?

Same here, I somehow get one-shot or find my main dead when I make the switch… And because of loggin in I can’t see ‘what happened to me’ and thus can’t figure out what happened. Another week gone sadly. I am going to try and take a lot of distance next time, so walk up to alt, bite, walk away plenty and get aggro from the boss and switch, etc. hope that works… My main is 80 and the three alts are 70 and are naked in the fight.
