Blood of Heroes design Nonsense ? New Avalon threat charges ? Can we freshen up that 20 years old BS?

Hello,

With a new Phase in SoD comes a new thing to overfarm, as usual. Last phase was Arcane Crystals, now Blood of heroes. No problem with that.

But I want to point at two problematic things :

The Blood of Heroes are OVERFARMED because they are needed everwhere in enchant and Tailoring and every head and chest pieces for Scarlet gear.

  • The problem is that it is BoP and the entire maps of EP and WP are crowded with Fallen Heroes that have been Nova’d, FD, sprinted out or other gameplay mechanics meant for that, but other players running around are basically 99% of the time promised to death if they get aggro from these.

  • The shout that lasts 1min, really ? The damage ? 2 barely visible ghosts ? Come on please…

= … This is a poor design and it is against fun factor / Generates unhealthy frustration

New Avalon is OVERFARMED as expected, for the Righteous Orbs, and obviously lots of players farm in NA, as expected.

  • The problem is the amount of damage one take due to the design of the charges on 2nd on threat makes our characters die pretty often, or the damage done by the torches, the speed casting of the clercs with their smites… nothing seems to have been tested… on Full T3 players even…

  • … This is a poor design and it is against fun factor / Generates unhealthy frustration

These 2 things make people with Full Naxx BIS gear die a lot in farming sessions, farming that became mandatory to simply get stuff for ourselves, not even for making golds.

I highly doubt making players die a lot in a casual time is intended in the core loop.

  • (yes it’s P8 but still it’s the only new zone, so it’s also for casuals)

Therefore I suggest to redesign the blood of heroes obtention.

  • Make Blood of Heroes unbound and now tradeable, no longer Bound on Pickup.
  • Make Blood of Heroes Lootable on the Fallen heroes ONLY, no longer from the ground pool.
  • Trigger the spawn of the Fallen Heroes the same way it happens currently, but the reward is on killing the Fallen Heroes.
  • Either spawn only 1 Fallen Hero with extra HP/damage, or make the Blood of heroes 50% chances drop ?

This way, there would be an actual CHALLENGE and a REWARD at getting this crafting material, rather than having professional cowards speedrunning the plaguelands and sprounting deathtraps for other players.

On top of that this becomes a new material for some farmers that will appreciate the bit of difficulty, but wont make it exclusive to tailors and enchanters to farm all the next phase (or more) because everyone will need bags and enchants anyway.

About New Avalon :

Please remove this nonsense perma charge on second on threat, this is stupid and basically forces players to play solo, one healer with a tank makes the healer spend ALL HIS SESSION hiding LOS and even then, the AI’s navmesh being so broken, they can charge behind covers and instakill a medium geared (t2+) priest.

So please, any game director reading that, make it happen, everyone would win on that.

I like the idea of fallen heroes dropping blood.

Some specs and low geared players will struggle to kill the fallen heroes. My 600gs warlock for example can’t kill them, but the way it is i can easily farm it.

I would suggest heroes also have a chance of maybe 10-20% to drop one. So they will get killed all the time from players who are able to and weaker players still can get them.

just make them tradable pls.
no need to overcomplicate a simple problem.

This a VHL material, if you’re not geared for it, then you’re not supposed to loot them easily. You’re typically the type of player I’m complaining about. Click and run, leaving behind the fallen heroes.

Just make them BOE and make the Fallen Heroes have a decent chance to drop Blood.

Whoever decided that the 4th most common currency; used for every craft and enchant, used multiple times per char - should be some BOP dog turd that spawns 2x loitering, half-invisible mobs as strong as ZG trash trolls, but with 75% 1 minute slow, mortal strike and stun. - should get kneed in the crotch repeatedly.

The original design of Blood of Heroes was for 2-3 diffuse, rare crafts that very few people used like once per char.

Simplicity is often the greatest weapon.

I know that you meant people like me, but i don’t care. My bis main can kill them easily, but doesn’t need any blood. My twink with tailoring can’t kill them. New players neither.

I still need to make some money and easily made 7k with bags while not killing a single fallen hero and there is nothing wrong about it.

Like i said make them drop it too and the problem is solved, because they get farmed and new players or twinks can also get blood.

BoA would also work imo, but 100% agree that the blood sould drop from the mobs and not the pool, maybe make it if you loot the pool the mobs are tagged to you immediately also

You have no point. You are just crying that low gear players can get the blood, your idea to make it unbound would ruin the profit of many professions and the competition for the blood would be even higher.

I dont like an idea of making it BoE for many reasons

  1. It will be farmed by bots
  2. it can be transfered from dead realms (lone wolf, crusader stike) - yes, those realms still exist
  3. It will ruin the profit of having professions, because (if we are talking on other professions then enchanting) the market can be controlled by 2-3 people if they can craft something without limit - but blood bottleneck doesn’t allow you to do crafts unlimited, so all players with professions can get profit, not only 2-3 players who camping AH and doing restock every 10 minutes 24/7

making it drop from fallen heroes can be a good idea i agree, but dont make it BoE

Bumping the difficulty of the fallen heroes wont make them botfarmables, and even if they managed to do so, what;s the difference with the Righteous orbs then ?

Transfer from dead reals ? I dont hear you complain about that with the righteous orbs either, and their price is still very high even thought there “must be” so many transfers from dead realms…

From all the people diagreeing with my post, All I hear is “boohoo dont change that we wont be able to sell for milions of golds and choke all the other players with our monopoly.” because you’ve been stacking these items since p4.

@Cruzog I have all characters maxed out, I can farm and do this hit and run myself, no worries with that. I just disagree with the design of these blood of heroes that are now mandatory for everything P8 related and makes everyone rely on the few who are stacking them in the poorest gameplay way possible.

getting thousands of golds by doing coward moves isn’t what I expect from this game. You shouldn’t be rewarded by doing such b*tch move.

I understand you dont want this to change, because you got a lot to lose there, but in percentage, it’s 1 vs 99 that have a lot to lose :slight_smile: Like in real life.

Also guys, don’t forget to put all your golds in your will, so your grandchildren can enjoy all this money when you’re gone :smiley:

Because on dead realms you can’t get enough gear to effectively solo new avalon mobs. There are no raids. Farm “just find and pick” is other, and even if you make it drop only from fallen heros, it’s still possible to solo them even on dead realm gear (incursion or random greens), yes maybe not fast, but possible. The difference between here and new avalon farm, is that new avalon is 90% kill mobs (part that depends of your gear) and 10% run, when blood if 90% run and 10% kill, and if you can make “run” part much faster it worth it even if your gear is bad and it takes you more time to kill heroes

Simple solution is SHUT DOWN dead realms (and force transfer characters from them same as blizz did when shut down some realms in TBC classic), that blizzard should do long time ago, idk why they still keep them for bots. If you dont belive me you can log on lone wolf or crusader strike and see 30-50 people in /who most of them are bots

Well unfortunately we’re talking PVE server… so there’s zero punishability.

Berny is sorry about that. PvE servers are truly inferior in everything.

The only good PvE servers are hardcore servers. Not because it’s PvE, but because hardcore is bestcore.

i dont mind them being BoP i dont mind killing the mobs ( even though as suggested additional bloods from killing would actually help) but for the love of god these were apparently increased on spawn rates and lets face it. they weren’t increased or if they were its very insignificant. im having to wake up at 430 pretty much most mornings to zoom around trying to get some.
