Bloodforged Prestigious Courser

Sup y’all, its me, its ya’ boi Ashynnia, and today, we’re going to look at why Blizzard has no concept or understanding of how to construct a PvP reward system.
So In legion we were introduced to the Prestigious Courser mounts and the Prestige system in general, which rewards you nothing but Cosmetics and mounts / toys and pets that literally no one cares about.

I did some mathematical calculations.
The Bloodforged Courser mount is the reward for getting Honor Level 500.
How do you obtain it? Quite simple, really. Get to honorlevel 500.
One honorlevel requires 8,800 honor, and a single BG rewards you approximately 500-1k honor (give or take a few, depending on the week and your winrate).

Which means, to get a single honorlevel, you need about 130 minutes of gameplay (1 bg on average takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 25, keep that in mind.)
To reach the halfway mark, in order to get the Prestigious Midnight Courser, (250 honor), you need approximately 33 THOUSAND minutes of gameplay, which on straight sitting translates to about 22 days, give or take a few again.

To carry on from 250 honor up to 500, means to repeat yet another 33 thousand minutes, which’s total toll will end at about (rounded) 50 days of nothing but sitting in BGs, given you win all.
Now lets add a 10 minute que in front of each BG
500 minutes of sitting in queue, a solid 8,3 hours
50/50 winrate, which means we can pretty much multiply the amount of time it’d take, seeing as losing will reward you less honor
And since this time is you doing NOTHING but farming bgs and queing the second you step out, we can round the number of time it takes you to get to honor level 500 to about…
1½ / 2 years.

Now lets see… How do you Obtain the cosmetic reward from PvE? Aka the Curve mount…
Oh yeah. Just afk for 10 minutes in a PuG.

Good one Blizzard.

I gave up on reaching any cosmetic rewards the moment I had my final Legion artifact tint completed. The rate of Honor gains in BfA is a grind of such dimensions, that no fancy Horde banner or horse will ever justify it to me.

Maybe Shadowlands will change the rate or venues of Honor acquisition. Haven’t seen anything of the sort as of yet however.

I do both PvE (9/12 mythic, progging carapace) and PvP at 2,1k arena rating (250k honorable kills and all that razzle dazzle).
The fact that there’s no reason whatsoever to do PvP anymore unless you intend to farm arenas mindlessly to rank 1 glad means that a large fraction of the game is essentially useless. I’m at Honor Level 293 myself, and got the 250 achievement in 2019. That’s what… 30-40 some levels up to this moment. I don’t do BGs daily mainly because its so godd*mn horrible with how this game is designed around “every1 needs a fair fight” and every class having ten thousand different safety mechanisms that delay them from dying for 10 hours unless you straight up hit for 450k in 3 globals.

The honor system is pretty terrible after Legion, I believe some did the math to get the Bloodforged now here in BFA equals doing Legion Prestige 50 8 times over, which is pretty asinine in my opinion.

Even more so with how awful BGs are and not to mention balance. I salute those crazy enough to farm it daily.

90% of the people who actually have the Bloodforged mount didn’t obtain it through “natural” means. They abused the BFA legion World Quest bug which rewarded easy 900-1400 honor levels in literally no effort or time whatsoever.

This bug was HOTFIXED, but the rewards those people got WEREN’T. You can still see people with about 1400 honor levels which is absurd, and 100% mathematically IMPOSSIBLE to achieve in the time they did.

What does Blizzard do?
Nothing.

Didn’t even know there was a bug for that, I know people farmed it in Darkshore in the pre-patch and that got fixed and honor levels removed >_>

This is just typical Blizzard.

I regret not doing more of the honor WQs in Legion. Even without abusing the bug, it gave you honor at a MUCH MUCH faster rate than anything in BFA.

Same, as soon as i realised how much experience the warden towers gave they became daily chores. Got the bronze courser and work got busy. Kinda fizzled after.

Wish i went ham on them at the start of the expansion.

Regrets about those Warden towers man.

Maybe I should just do one or two BGs a day, wether I win or lose atleast I’ll be (slowly) getting honour levels again for mounts, pets and toys!
