So the last part “We don’t even bring them anymore.” That is already happening…
Is it so? Is the general opinion of the community, about hunters as a class, that it is complete junk, not worthy of a raid spot? Because Kris specifically said “class”, not “spec”.
In the most popular sources, like Wowhead or Icy Veins I see hunters being put in A tier on the DPS tier lists*, so I dont believe that community thinks the class is junk.

Hunters in general no… BM? Yus! C tier… Just like frost mage and sub rogue! Got kicked from a heroic a few times already for being BM… “BM hunter?” And got kicked. It doesn’t bother me much since i’ve done all this many years a go so i play how and what i like.
Blizzard have actually said differently about WOTLK. They have stated that if there is an enormous disparity, they will look at tuning numbers.

Exactly and people still live in a bubble that we are playing classic
Due to nerfs and buffs, and changes to how stats work (like ARP) - certain specs may never be worth playing, simply because they are balance around ICC gear or a broken mechanic that no longer exists. Adjusting things to make it more fluid as the expansion goes on isn’t new.
If TBC hadn’t been fixed, the entire expansion would have featured no ability to power-shift for druids, which was accurate to TBC but just not the final patch that was applied to classic.

Completely agree with this. A lot of specs got butchered in Cata (like frost mage turned into ice lance machine gun and became a pet class) where they tried to make everything viable for everything instead of having different uses for different specs.
BM is already insanely powerful at lower levels, your pet can solo most players/mobs and does most of your damage.

Are you suggesting Arms/Prot hybrid tanks are a change? People were playing this build in the original WOTLK. Landsoul had a few videos on Warcraft movies tanking Naxx with it.
The reason the build didn’t get nerfed is because it was only good for dungeons and easy raids, it’s dead later on because it has bad survival and Warrior is already the worst tank even in full Prot, and vs bosses this Arms build doesn’t even beat normal Prot on threat either, since it relies purely on avoiding/blocking hits to do all its threat, while normal Prot has devastate and rage cost reductions + Vigilance.

It gets weaker and weaker when your levels go up. And also it gets weaker and weaker when your gear go up, pet doesn’t scale with arp so from ToC BM is not weak it’s completely useless.

Thats how it was in Wotlk.
And as ppl mentioned, alot of classes/speccs were unviable in previous expansions.
No special cookie for you & you have 2 other viable speccs.
Destro is useless in pve aswell, but i have Demo/Affli.
If they change Bm, they have 10 other speccs to fix aswell. It’s not somethign worth or should be done in middle of the expan.
End of story. This is wotlk CLASSIC. Not “Alternative wotlk.”
But this IS alternative WOTLK. That’s why we’re getting new, alternative content such as Heroic +

Leaving any spec obsolete and not viable is a bad thing, but for example frost mage talents scream PVP so it is viable in other aspect of the game. BM however as i see is just bad overall
I play bm hunter. It is a brain dead spec for open world leveling and can do ok in open world pvp. It is an alt I use for farming. Biggest issue for me is that no one likes bm hunter in their group.
I would love to see some changes in wotlk+, however im scared that they will ruin whole experience of playing Wotlk. Changing bm to be viable in PvE makes much more than that… After buffing 1 spec they will immediately have to boost frost / sub. That might make those specs viable in PvE, but we can’t forget about PvP. All those changes affect PvP, that’s why blizzard do not want to make any changes, ngl im scared aswell seeing BM in godtier and unstoppable, no thanks.
