BM Hunter - Wild Thrash Question

UPDATE:

Just in case someone reads this later.

After testing in the beta, I can confirm your pet does charge to your target first before dealing the Wild Thrash damage.

On the beta forum, players have said this wasn’t how it was working so I assume it was patched at some point.

Now, Wild Thrash works similar to Kill Command:

  • 50 yd range
  • Pet charges to target and executes the attack when it’s in melee range
  • It can’t be used without a target
  • It can’t be used if the target is out of range
  • Pet will not move into range on it’s own if the target is out of range
  • Unlike Kill Command, it does not start your auto attack when you use it.

Original Question:

Does anyone know if Wild Thrash, the pet skill that is replacing multi-shot to activate Beast Cleave, causes your pet to get in range of your target before activating or does it just activate immediately where ever they are?

I see on the tooltip that it has a 50yd range, just like Kill Command.

I’m hoping it does work like this instead of just activating where ever they happen to be but can anyone confirm?

from what i have seen when wild thresh activates your pet will use the ability regardless if there in range of enemies so you will never want to use it to start a fight as it won’t hit anything so yeah bro confirmed it does not cause your pet to charge the target like kill command does

on a side note i also hate the placing of wild thresh on the talent tree it makes it mandatory to pick even in pure single target builds

Looking at the alpha videos on youtube, you would get your pet to rush in, and then cast it after. Since you can essentially spam barbed shot or KC whenever you want now, both of which cause your pet to rush in, I wouldn’t worry too much about this.

Thanks to both of you.

Ok, another question.

Does Beast Cleave activate even if Wild Thrash doesn’t hit anything?

yes it does
