BNet bugging and games are gone

I just got a weird thing to happen. All of my games need to be re-installed. I can still access them folder I installed them but on bnet I have to install each and every one of the games.

Using the “re-scan games” button found all the games and showed me that all games are up to date but still need to re download :0 wtf?

Lucky guy. Bnet games are dead for a long time, so dont bother to re-install them. Just move to SWTOR, TF2 or another cool MMO game.

thank you so much for this awesome and insightful comment, it really helped with this issue!

Isn’t it enough to use the relocate option and click on the folders? That usually works for me when it happens at least.

Imagine going into a thread where someone posts about having a technical issue and rant above how Blizzard games are bad and they should quit. Is this some poor troll attempt on your part?

Did not work. Like I said, all the games are there, nothing is missing, but Bnet launcher does not understand that

Found this in a search about the issue:-

Try running the scan and repair tool. Restart computer to close Blizzard processes. Right click on the Battle. net desktop icon. Select “Run as Administrator”

Another suggestion is clearing the cache -

Ye none of these help. The games still want to re-install and now I am wondering if WoW for example, wants to re-install its 55gb on top of the old 55gb doubling its size?

You might actually be better off posting in the Customer Support or Tech Forums

FFS THIS ISNT!!!

bnet installer isn’t stupid, it won’t download files you already have
have you tried reinstalling (uninstall and manual folder deletion) the bnet app?

Yep. I did all the things that were said, and yes Bnet is stupid, all the game and their files are there. I can launch the game through the launcher inside the folder, but it still wants to install it again, and as of now the installer says I have 51gigs worth files to re-download, total file size is 60gigs which just happens to be exactly same size as my WoW folder

they told you to delete cache, i’m saying to uninstall it from control panel and search for all battle.net folders and delete those too.
have you done that?

did you select the same folder to install?
the installer works like torrent clients, as long as you select the same folder it will just do a hash check and skip the download

ye those were the first things I did. All same folders and the bnet app even showed all green that games were installed, still it wants to re-install all of them when I used the “locate games”

And yes, I even checked if my internet is connected

i didn’t noticed puny’s first link :flushed:

it’s not possible to redownload files if you select the same folder for the new installation, unless some of the old files are corrupted

Yet here I am re-downloading all the files to exactly same file location as the ones that already are there
