BoE's more frequent than loot from bosses

imagine getting more mythic BoEs while clearing way to the boss than drops from the actual boss you spend hours learning. Did blizzard forget people play this game for loot? Something is not quite right here. And I hear forums buzzing with complaints. We think we do but we don’t? xD

Yep. I get that BoEs from Raids have been a staple since forever. But then again, loot systems have been ever-changing. BoEs by themselves need not be a bad thing, but now they can often be a stepping stone to gearing when other sources are so less reliable.

Now that you mention it this does seem to be the case. That said, BOEs are often shared between the entire raid, so maybe we just had to combine our loot chances from 20+ people to get a single piece of loot? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice troll attempt OP 2/10.
This is not true at all. Just more crying over the loot system.

we looted 4 boe’s on the way from huntsman to destroyer this reset. After sone1 ninjapulled the group on the left of the bridge, we got the 3rd one so we cleared the whole thing, and guess what, got the 4th. I rarely spend time on forums, coz browny nosed people like you dispute things for the sake of disputing. But yeah one thing you said is right, obviously this is crying over loot system, it doesnt make sense at all.

Looting BoE’s is great. But makes you wonder why the boss drops are so low in comparison

It’s all rng dude.
You’re 1 anecdotal evidence out of probably thousands of ppl whos been in there.

While you might have gotten 4 items, theres probably 10 other grps out there getting 0.

If you can bring me like some sort of data that would support what you say, then ye.
But right now it’s 1 anecdotal evidence which is nothing.
I just did a run for example, we cleared 6/10 bosses, only 1 boe.

While atleast 2 ppl got drops from each boss.

So ye it’s a troll comment.

I had 16 boes this expansion so far, That was in the first 3 weeks, I didn’t do any boe farms.

i like how one person jumps on “I’m right you’re wrong” bandwagon, a casual at that, when in fact the issue at hand is right there - which is ridiculously low droprates from boss that takes hours on end to defeat, versus finding same or more amount of BoE on a trash clears. there’s people in my guild who haven’t looted an item from mythic raid yet. And if the weekly vault is supposed to serve as bad luck protection, well, there’s people who are utterly demotivated by the reward vs effort. He’ll probably jump on here to have a last word, do as you like, fact remains the loot system isn’t working the way it should. Like sweatshop in china - Much effort and little reward.

no, they just want to turn wow pay-to-win in disguise (tokens for items).
they already succeeded in doing so.

You make a pretty big personal attack on me, then be like “he’ll probably be back.”
Like what?

You’re offering absolutely nothing but even more complaining. And attacking me for no reason.
Look up ANY droprates for boes.
They’re all at 1% or lower on a raid, that has not that much trash to clear.

Anecdotal drops is not an argument for anything, besides arguing absolutes.
And it’s not like i said Boes can’t drop.

@Baltic
You have had 16 boes drop for you? I highly doubt it, unless you were doing some heavy boe farms.

To guarantee 16 boes, you have to kill probably well over 1000 mobs.

I found this way to calculate %, where you basically show whats your chance of a boe drop based on % and how many mobs you’ve killed.

So for example a boe i found has 0.6% dropchance.

Thats a 99.4% chance of it not dropping.

So if we reverse it and calculate the chance of it not dropping after 100 mobs, you can then see what your % chance is to get after 100 mobs.

So we do 0.994^100 (I use 100, to calculate the chance of getting it after 100 mob kills, which is far more than how many mobs you’d actually kill in 1 run)

Now keep in mind, this is 1 boe for 1 person.

Doing that calculation above we get 0.547 which is 54.7% chance. This is the chance of it NOT dropping.
So your chance of getting 1 single boe after 100 mobs, is 45.3%.

Now for each boss you get 15% chance i believe? to get 1 loot.

So samething, 85% chance to get nothing, over 10 boss kills.

0.85^10 = 0.196 = 19.6%
Which means, you have a whopping 80.4% of getting atleast 1 piece of loot per week from raid.

Which is far higher than getting any boe in there, by killing more mobs than what exists.

Now this is also why you can’t use anecdotal to claim one persons luck as proof, that boe drop is broken.
Because he can be an outlier of lucky drops. While theres maybe thousands of ppl whos never seen a boe.

I just wanted to throw this together as a last comment on this.
Don’t think i “wasted” alot of time finding this, just 1 google away. Was really quick.

Sorry? Bosses do drop loot. Just becouse you dontz get loot it does mean there is no loot lol. People act like entiure raid kill boss and nothing drops which is total nonsense.

Current loot system is worth crying over. It’s atrocious and I don’t know how people pug or enjoy raiding with it.
