As I have been thinking about this for a little while, I wanted to get out some thoughts / ideas about ‘in game’ books. (Also white item books, some scrolls and pamphlets too, yeah I collect all sorts of carp
)
Was wondering what others think or want in relation to this subject ?
So, here goes…
A lot of books are currently laying around dungeons (Imo awful places to try and read, while intermittently swatting mobs with said book).
However, we have nice libraries in Stormwind and Ironforge* so once books are found, (clicked or player has visited location) could they be:
-
Re-accessed (‘borrowed’) from an appropriate main library ?
-
Added to a new collections tab to collate old and future book oriented quests) ?
(Inc any owned white books and pamphlets.)
*(Orgimmar, Silvermoon and maybe a neutral area like Dalaran would need new library buildings).
Icing on the cake:
Perhaps an inscription created reagent quill/parchment to allow book owners to create copies of ‘out of print/unavailable’ items to send and share with other players ? (Maybe marked as replicas?)
Creation of a micro autobiography section (knowledgebase) on Npcs giving their location and basic info in game. (Starting with the most recent expansion stuff- Wowhead may not be around forever) ).
Where there are multi expansions, vol 1, vol2 etc could be used.
Maybe some new profession based transmog items/sets to collect.
Eg) Librarian themed robes, hat, and tabard. Scroll filled backpack, and thick tome, wooden date stamp or Library scroll case off-hand items.
