Boomy PVP Feedback

I posted this topic in the PvP Thread but I’ll leave it here aswell just in case:

So it’s been roughly a 3/4 year since the launch TWW and Boomys still suffers from the same problems since then. The overwhelmingly lack of defense!

Every spec besides boomy has effectively 3-4 Shield Walls, strong selfhealing, Immunities or all of these things combined to work with.

While tanky specs with little damage output got their damage fixed to be competetive (best example BM-Hunters), boomy never saw any defensive buffs that are comparible with the help other classes got for their weak spots.

The rework of the druid class tree provided a little more defense through freed up talent points but minor buffs to an already outdated classic toolkit and ridiculous low self heal just doesn’t cut it.

The philosophy of cloning nonstop to survive (a talent you nerfed) is just not realistic anymore, because there is so much dmg and things you have to bait out before you can effectively clone. In most situations it’s not even worth to aggressively clone anymore and you’re better of kiting.

While kiting can provide some much needed defense against melee comps, it’s not an option vs casters. Caster lobbies are at this point just plain unfair for boomies. With all the walls, immunities and selfheal other casters got, you just get outtraded with defs.

For being competive 3s, a good melee that can peel for you and enable you to play is mandatory at this point, which limits comps and is not fun.

In order to fix this, boomy should either A) Do more damage, so it can burn faster through defs so it doesn’t get outtraded and can apply more pressure (that would also help the poor pve perfomance in single target dmg) or B) should receive the same treatment a specc with low dmg gets, which means major buffs to our selfhealing and defensives, like a second barkskin charge, an astral shield or decent modifiers.

That’s boomy for you bro, all throughout Wrath of the Lich King pvp not many people played balance, they suffered from weaknesses that made them super easy to train, both in battlegrounds and arenas.
We’d literally just rush them down and kill them everytime, unless they played a good comp where they would become untouchable while killing everything in their path.
Seems to me like they are staying true to their nature.

This comment is unqualified on so many levels, I don’t even know where to begin.

First of all, we’re in Retail. Wotlk is almost 20 years old and basically a different game.
Second, there is no such thing as “true nature”. Since the game is ever changing, specs have their up’s and downs every season.
There were seasons were boomy defense was good, seasons were it was decent and seasons were it was not.
But were not talking about good or bad here, we’re talking about an absolutely outdated classic toolkit that shouldn’t even be a thing in modern Retail. It’s like bringing Shield and Armor into a 20th century war.
Third, beside that telling very oversimplified and old stories of the past is probably one of the worst line of argument, being trained and disrupted is a whole other story than having no contemporary responses to handle damage appropriately. A shadow is easy to train too, but they made SP so tanky that he can handle it.
And at last, a “good comp” was only 1 comp (outlaw, boomy, pres) in Season 1. That got nerfed and now we got like 3 decent comps, because WW and DH got their Damage fixed, or even slightly overtuned.
If you can fix damage you can fix defensives. Easy as that.
