Just wait for not only people paying for Boosts to get the rating up, but 259 geared players dropping to the 1400-1600 bracket to farm conquest to funnel there alts.
The Conquest funneling to Alts is brilliant and i’m more than happy, however when you combine this with Item level locked PVP gearing, you are in for a dangerous game in a few weeks.
Why would I spend hours farming low CR on my 220 ilvl Warlock when I can bring my 259 Prot Paladin down to 1400 CR and just farm everything with my 259 partner, farm 5000 Points then transfer it all to my Warlock…
Keep the funneling conquest to alt but my god, just remove the rating requirement for gearing

how does alt transferring work exactly?
You can buy a conquest box for 325 which will give your alt 220 rated gear. For example I bought 10 box and I got the weapon and 5 additional unique pieces. Which save me a hell of a lot of time on my Alt. It’s faster to farm conquest on my main and just keep purchasing this boxes until i’m full geared.

technically yes, but if everyone drops with big gear to low rating, it means it isn’t just easy wins then, isn’t it?
Probably still tons of more fun than playing with potato gear and farming conquest points.
what it also means is that once you got your 220 rated gear on your alt, it will be very hard (still) to climb up to upgrade because all high level geared people are cruising around in that bracket, no?

People who are farming conquest on their mains are doing themselves a great disservice because conquest is abundant compared to honor.
In reality, if you are not getting honor for your alt while you are farming conquest, you are just wasting time.

U already have duelist players glads and multi glads at 1600 boosting, itd borderline impossible pushing rival when Joe blogs needs gear to climb but can’t climb cause of said gear difference being still 2 ranks apart between him and the average dps at that mmr
It’s intended, they just buffed WW to make boosting easier and more widespread. More boosting = more $ for blizzard.
WW is perfect booster class because with some gear advantage it can 1v2 easily while his
just watches and enjoys the show.
Like 50% of games have boosters in them its getting boring. I wouldn’t mind a longer queue time if they sorted arena fights roughly around gear but that could get difficult outside of peak times. Getting my hunter past 1800 was a nightmare I would never want wished no anyone.
Removing rating requirements would ruin any sense of progression and timegating though which is a nono for an MMO. Their new leniant systems are something I very much like.
Edit: After waiting for about 20 minutes to find a healer for a 1.4k game on my alt he alf-f4’d after our first game becasue of a warlock boosting. This is a nightmare

Arena was already ruined when they broke class design after Cata. Instead of complex re-reactionary metas we have low iq burst damage and burst healing.
You accidentally added zero ? Its not even close to 50%, more like 5%.
You are never hardstuck cause boosting or gear, you are stuck cause you are not good enough.
No s*** you can always do better in a fight but it dosen’t help with gear closes the gap. And it was an exageration i’d say one in 3 but everyone has different experiances. Peak time its more fair but outside of peak time half the teams are boosters in my experiance. Winning vs boosters is possible but the difficulty curve is real regardless of skill.

Maybe you count everyone who have even +1 ilev compared to you as boosters.
I’ve learned its a waste of time to argue with people who try to tell you that your own experiance is false. Take care I have no time for people with NPD.
Weren’t you in a thread yesterday telling people who wanted Conquest gain to increase with CR (so that they didn’t feel compelled to drop to lower rating to farm) that they were lazy?
Yet here you are complaining about being outgeared at said lower ratings?

I’m trying to understand your reasoning becasue both my comments are the same thing. One is that I hate high geared people who drop ratings to farm lower geared people becasue its ruins the experiance and the other is I hate being farmed by said higher geared people. I’m on the recieving end of this on my alts.
Your post in the other thread claimed that people who wanted accelerated Conquest at higher CR’s to incentivise playing there rather than at 1600 were just afraid of dropping their rating.
The very thing that the aforementioned other thread was suggesting to help remedy.
i also think people at lower ratings quite often think a duelist geared player is a booster while its just a boostie that dropped rating after getting boosted and is now playing there overgeared. i won quite a few games on my 240ilvl udhk at 1.6-1.8 against overgeared people whom were -judged by their skill- no boosters.
Oh I realize what your on about now, I wrote that as a reaction to the people who wanted to drop their rating to farm but somehow after reading too much and being slightly wasted at the time of writing thought he was encouraging it. lol.
Reading it again I still disagree with the idea becasue it would slow down the conquest gains for lower ranks which would extend the time new players would have to suffer through the ‘1 shot hell’ of low geared battlegrounds.
The only way it could work would be to increase conquest gains across the board which sounds great on paper but if you let people have all the gubbins too fast they get bored without a decent feeling of progression and move on (which has happened in previous expansions).
Theres also the paradox that the people who have a higher rating also have more gear and less need of conquest whilst the lower geared people who need more gear get less. I farmed in a week full conq gear (without buying it and not fully honor upgraded) in about 10 days with a full time job.
I’m all for a solution just not that one. A better way would be to reduce conquest gains once you have reached a certain rank below a certain level, say… If you go below 200 if your highest rating you get 50% less conquest gains?
Edit: That wouldn’t solve the boosting issue but it would at least stop the bulk of players who are farming conquest
never understood people wasting their time and boosting for money. Might aswell get a job thats fun and progress in life.
Dropping low mmr to cap (with low gear that is) however has been a thing since i can think of so i doubt its big of an issue especially since … well uve no gear
