Blizzard stop thinking people are just dumb. it’s true, many people can’t see beyond the surface, pointing the finger at gdkp, a system where the raid leader always wins, 80/20 is absurd. Seems pretty 90/10 to me already, but a legitimate system in the end.
Boosts are an equally legitimate way to interact and generate in-game trade. if I don’t want to PAY 2 SUBSCRIPTIONS and have two accounts, I can have a friend take me to the dungeons and help me level up with his maximum level character and I can do the same with my maximum level character and help him to level up your secondary character. This service can also be offered for gold within the game. and this would not be a problem. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? the problem is the bots that farm 24/7, the problem is that blizzard is not going to ban those bots because they are accounts that pay subscription. the problem is these, companies/mafias that control the game to the point of converting the realms into a mono faction as happened in firemaw, why? because they have more clients for their gold sale in a server with 28k people from the same faction than in one with 15k in one and 10k in another.
The problem is the raw gold and the inflation that is a reality because the game came out years ago, how could that be improved? go directly for the great fortunes, (companies/mafias) that are the ones that monopolize the gold, for example that all accounts from 10k gold periodic burn 10% of the gold and progressively increasing If you have more than 50k gold 50% is burned and if you have more than 100k may 55% of the gold be burned and an exponential increase. in this way the great fortunes of illicit gold are cleaned. but this is something that will not happen. because blizzard knows well how these organizations work, blizzard is complicit in all this. what bothers me is the hypocrisy of saying that they are doing what the community asks for. They do what suits them and they know it well.
it is not as easy to distribute the gold in several accounts, as if it were to distribute it in characters. but even so, you could simply burn 50 or even 75% of all the gold available, and the beneficiaries will always be the normal people. It does not compare with the amounts of gold that the boters handle, and the benefit that it would bring in the prices of everything.
I’m a relatively simple minded person and I am partially unironically pointing the finger at GDKP. It is not the root cause (botting is), but it is the main motivator for RMT.
Why?
Because there is really no need to buy gold in the game if you don’t do GDPKs. You literally need like 5k for epic flyer and after that you can get your enchants and consumables covered by doing dailies every now and then. Maybe some lazy people would buy the 5k for the epic flyer but that’s it. There is no sudden need to get 10-30k gold. Unless… you want to buy GDKP items.
In the end, without bots the whole issue wouldn’t exist so true, they are the key to this, but if you removed the GDKP component from the equation, it would already get A LOT better even if it doesn’t address the root issue. Almost nobody would have a proper reason to buy gold, and even if they did, it wouldn’t be tens of thousands of gold. Less demand for gold buying = less bots. GDKP only increases the demand, as did boosting.
LOL
How about banning the bots instead of showing the middle finger to people that are good at playing the game and use their brain?
Sounds to me like a lazy person crying that others are successful. Sure botting and RMT is a real problem, but there are many legit players who made a lot of gold. Makes no sense to screw them over.
it’s true. the thing is that gdkp is one of the most difficult parts to fix.
The problem has several “layers”. First there is the amount of gold that there is already and inflation, that although there is nothing illegal, the raw gold multiplies every day that passes. that won’t prevent it, buy a 20k mammoth. but to burn the gold in percentage so as not to harm those who have less.
Then there is the banning of the bots.
Which is something blizzard has no excuse not to be doing.
But we all know that what blizzard sees is an active subscription, not if it is a bot or a player. Finally the gdkp, you can also change the loot system, so that you can not trade.
Attacking boost in dungeons is nothing more than an effort to sell your own boost.
The players are the problem. People want to relive classic, but dont want to level and dont want to be social and play in a guild. Its the players who dont want to progress and EARN their gear. Its the players that buy gold and spend it on boosts and its the players who spend it on GDKP’s
Maybe some players were “legit” but some of them made a ton of golds from it and sold those golds to 3rd part website. The same websites where some players were buying theirs golds to get boosted.
if you know anything about economics, you understand that “legitimate” gold is a problem too. But in any case, if you have 50k g farmed and traded in the auction, it doesn’t hurt you that they burn 50% of your “legitimate” gold, what really hurts you are the millions of legitimate and illegitimate gold, that this breaking prices.
Really now? So taking away something I spent time working for won’t hurt me?
How about they take half your gear and reps too? - assuming you have anything worth mentioning, which at this point I very much doubt.
You overestimate that statement. Intelligence was always overatted. There is much more attributes that you need to have to make good decision or decent opinion yet to see point of other person.
I report bots every week and I don’t get the mail saying that it helped the game on any way for a long time. Is blizzard still banning bots ? I don’t really think so. Everytime I need to farm something my competition are bots. Just log on and go Zangarmarsh Quagmire and check how many druids are there farming. 99,9% bots that even reply to you with a script, I kill them, I report them, they still there.
They detect and ban botting software(s) maybe once every year. Outside of that it is all automated, and if the bot is in an area where not many people report them, they will never get banned as there aren’t simply enough unique reports to trigger the ban.
