Everyone knows that gathering professions are some of the best ways to make money unless you are a hunter and can solo RFK.
Now botting has made it so that everything except for rare items are so cheap in the AH that it is just not worth it to go farming for materials. This is the exact opposite of what should happen, because gold should be inflating as more characters are introduced to the game, getting more gold, but doing less farming since people usually have money on their mains that they dont really have ways to spend but on their alts.
Basically botting has ruined the economy and I don’t see their activity reduced or even any reassurance from the devs that they are working on some solution.
I used to not care much about or for bots because over the years gold wasn’t an issue for me ever.
I sod however we just tried to farm that damned pre bis helmet in Hillebrand, only to be outgunned by a 5 man bot squad that basically pulled and cleared everything there, had one runner that filled stuff into ah as soon as they found something…
Advanced sh… but that’s where we’re at now.
Oh and they layer switched the moment we tried to reach them.
Problem is; good luck getting 100g for your non-epic mount and 1000g for your epic mount under current ciscumstances when they drive rare materials so low and farming the same areas as you do. Or getting gold for literally any other item. Or trying to farm any item. Also, doing your professions was a big part of the game, but bots have sort of taken out at the very least the gathering ones.
well its obvious, ignore bots long enough so players ask for tokens to be implmeneted => little to no resistance when they are
implement wow tokens early => sh…storm
At this point they should just sell the gold themselves or introduce tokens. Basically they are indirectly profiting from gold sellers and this way no one can say that wow is a p2w game.
It doesn’t cost 100g it’s discounted and on the vendor for like 36g I believe with 4g training cost.
It’s not difficult to get 100g tbh. I have like 95g saved up and have probably spent in the region of like an additional 50g in top of that so far for some BOEs, runes, talents & mats for some profs.
Questing, grinding a few things Bots can’t really effectively grind yet and some other methods like big iron rod farm.
Dude, revenue of players buying gold is always much higher than cost of a new sub for bot accounts. Thats why bots exist. To be very clear, if players would stop buying gold, bots would disappear automatically.
Takeaway: blizzard could stop botting by banning players who buy gold or mass banning the botters. They dont though, since it would hurt sub numbers and the bottom line.
i am writing now a mail to all the big gaming websites and ask them to check out the insane botting and report about it. If they write articles about it and keeps new players away from subscribing maybe then Blizzard will act. You should do the same.
