Lately, I’ve noticed a lot of people in the services chat offering character leveling for half the usual gold price. After asking around, it turns out most of these are done using bots—just running characters on the Siren Isle. Isn’t that against the rules? What’s worse is that they’re not even hiding it. If you whisper any of these low-price sellers, they’ll straight up admit “Yeah, it’s done with bots.” How is this okay?
What is your evidence that is is bots? Because they are druids?
Certainly isn’t, you can report them and the alleged bots and Blizzard will eventually take action but as with many other illegal things they will very likely return mhm.
I said before, u can just directly ask them. They’re not hiding it.
Report them and move on.
Nothing else you can say or do about it. It’s in the hands of Blizzard to run their scripts through Warden to get the list of accounts, which they’ll then ban on the month or bi-monthly basis.
Bots will always be part of MMOs and there is nothing the developers can do about it, as the players who purchase those services are the cause & reason that they still exist!
Bots are unfortunately everywhere in this game.
Gathering herbs? Oh look, bots.
I once saw 5 bots fishing trash in bug place (I forgot it’s name, the bug zone in Khaz algar. ) They were just, fishing… I tried asking what was worth fishing there, no response… then 3 hours later, when I logged back on, instantly received a message from them… Despite being on different servers. Mega sus.
Edit: Azj-Kahet. It was the goblin niffen town’s pool.
I do recommend reporting bots when you can. But know that you’re still going to run into many of them. I occasionally get a mail back when I report a bot, “Thank you for keeping azeroth safe” or whatever. Like, even if you report a thousand bots every day. There will still be more. And I don’t even really blame blizzard that much for not being good at stopping people botting. That’d be a difficult think to keep on top of. I’m sure there’s a lot they could do, and a lot they should.
But I’d rather they focused on making life easier on players despite the bots.
Like… instead of making herbs disappear a bit after being picked, why not make resource nodes unique per person?
Person 1: “I see copper ore there!”
Person 2: “It’s not up for me I guess.”
Then when you’re picking one of those stupid exploding ore nodes slowly, it’s not going to disappear last minute.
(Tip for those, get in really close, you mine faster).
I rambled a bit here… But yeah, bots are all over, they drive everyone nuts. Just because there’s always going to be more doesn’t mean you shouldn’t report them.
I tend to leave the services chat myself, it’s too spammy. Good luck! <3
Just get an addon that tells you where to go there is one if still available called auto pilot it just tells you what quest to pick in a specific route and lets you level to max level in about a day, heck it might be even faster now with more optimized routes, no need to bot at all in a week you can have all classes max level.
Even without addons and following a guide it can go even faster, which is totally worth it if you still need to level more characters you might as well learn a specific route to optimize your leveling experience.
leveling services that cost money including character boost are such a scam.
I’ve had them douches PM me to stop killing “their mobs” when they’re hyper spawning mass AoE’ing them dead while they got a number of characters idling in some safe spot, when I need them for a quest…
Why Blizz hasn’t bothered to remove hyper spawning, a blatant exploit to a feature that dealt with overcrowding long before sharding, is beyond me. The fact they haven’t makes them complacent in enabling bot behavior, as bots exploit it to great effect alongside countless 4x2 farm groups.
I recommend levelling with warmode on. I kill and report those bots when I can. (Both kill, I might not be level to, and report, sometimes the option just isn’t there because the report system sucks)
It’s far more satisfying to kill them.
Do be warned though, I’ve heard tale of them mass reporting people and letting automated systems deal with them.
Also one time… I kinda farmed a bot for a while, because I was bored and thought it was funny to screw over a botter… And their main came into chromie time, like, max level, in chromie time somehow.
I do have to wonder how they did that, but I also have to wonder… dude, you had 5 druids and hunters spamming abilities and you couldn’t just have them attack me? You had to bring your main? Weak! XD
