So, as the title says, im bottlenecking like crazy everytime i enter a zone or loading anything ingame.
Its my disk/memory that is bottlenecking and sometimes even GPU.
i build a pretty good build, that easy could handle anything like wow. .
Also, I used to play games like RE2, with good settings, ( using recomended from Gforce experience ) - but now, its just bottlenecking the GPU all the time…
and no, i dont run 500 webpages all the time
The problem is, i got really long loading, and even lagging sometimes.
How on earth do I fix this ?
This is my PC Speccs:
i5-9600k @ 3.7hz ( oc’ed)
ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING
ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 ROG Strix OC
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 16GB
ASUS ROG RYUO 240
Corsair Force Series MP510 480GB
Maybe some errors on the SSD or problematic addons?
What you can do is run userbenchmark. There on the result page for every component you will see a percentile (Performing below expectations / Performing as expected and alike). Do this before WoW, and then second time when loading something in WoW, having problems (alt-tab and launch it). If the SSD percentile drops dramatically then it has a problem. If other component drop a lot (some drops are normal) then it may also indicate a problem (like thermals).
Addons would be my initial suspicion. Especially some transmog addons can be very taxing and cause issues so I would start from the usual full UI reset (both Interface and WTF, rename/move them to safe location so you can easily restore them).
Keep in mind SSD will be a lot slower when the free space is less than 30% (for most SSD).
Well NVMe technology should resolve that but who knows…
You can test the ssd speed via CrystalDiskInfo app.
“Overall this PC is performing way below expectations (6th percentile). This means that out of 100 PCs with exactly the same components, 94 performed better. The overall PC percentile is the average of each of its individual components. Use the charts in the benchmark sections of this report to identify problem areas.”
Sometimes they have to be reinstalled/updated because some conflict can cause lots of Lua errors that then can hammer down on the performance. Remove all addons and see if the problem persists.
Will be visible on the userbenchamark percentiles.
Can you post the link? The percentiles of components are what’s needed. So low rating indicates CPU overheating severely or something along those lines.
Something is wrong with your system. Either the CPU is thermal throttling pulling everything down or you have some high load tasks running (Very high background CPU (51%)) that then pulls performance of other tasks down.
So I would check thermals. This benchmark shouldn’t be looking like so. You can also do a test without WoW so we see what changes. If the PC cools and scores are quite good then it’s thermals. If nothing changes then could be some odd problem with the storage.
High background CPU (21%) – check what apps/processes are running and start closing/killing them.
Check CPU temps, it could be throttling (HwInfo or MSI Afterburner overlay can show it.)
HwInfo - launch in sensors mode, click on CPU temp and frequency listing to open graphs and then play the game until problems show up - alt tab and see temps and clocks. For Afterburner configure the overlay to show clocks and temps. Pick one of them.
