Brawlers guild abandoned?

This was always fun thing to do at the end of expac with some cool fights and nice rewards.

Yet, its nowhere to be seen in SL expac.

Any word on this? Is it gone for good? Will it ever return?

They thought torghast would take this spot but they ruined it quite a bit

It could have been good. But they messed it up and then they just gave up on it.

Still. I really enjoyed brawlers guild and it has to be so little resources. Such a shame they didnt do it this time around.

Question is, why? Was there any comment why?

I’ve heard of Brawler’s guild, but I’ve no idea what it is, can someone fill me in?

Its underground fights club where you face bosses with interesting mechanics in the arena style combat. Ultimate reward was always a mount. Last one was Bruce the crocodile.

Pretty cool stuff tbh.

wait what?? like a duel with a boss that has mechanics?

WHY isn’t that a more prominent feature?
as someone who plays almost exclusively as a solo player that’d absolutely be my thing!

its a Blizzard game, they are the definition of incompetence. They chose to spend dev time making torghast instead  Brawlers guild & proving grounds should be a permanent normal feature in every xpac but they are so clueless sadly.

Torghast could have had potential tbh, I remember plenty of us being excited for it.

but yeah, gameplay systems like that should always be updated and supported (still salty class order halls were a one and done system)

Yeah. It was great solo content. Every expansion since MoP, I think, had its own season of it. With unique rewards and somehow new and refreshed encounters.

Hard to say why blizz hates its casual audience. So much effort towards raiding and so little for solo players. Yet, I think, solo players are a majority of players.

Remember when they said Torhgast would be a part of weekly vault progression? Got me excited.
Its typical blizzard. They half bake semi decent idea. Only to completely abandon it mid expansion.
Island Expeditions could be expanded upon and cool. Warfronts had a huge pvp poteintial. Now Torghast… Shame, really.

Totally agreed.
Though, honestly, my gut-pessimistic feeling is that it won’t be carried forward, Dragonflight does look like it’s aiming at our demographic.

I made a thread not too long ago about it, it seems to be “go do stuff!!”, tons of fun gameplay content but no obligation to be dragged into any of them etc.

The funny thing that shows how incompetent is Blizzard is that there is not even a need to make so much development to update Brawlers guild every expansion.

It is not like every expansion consists of new encounters that should be made from scratch. Yes, there are new encounters in every expansion but there are also many encounters reused from previous expansions. Wich means that making a few SL-themed encounters and combining that with old encounters would have been enough.

What I live about Brawlers guild is that all encounters that were available on any expansion since MOP are still available thanks to play random brawls. In fact, my only complain about Brawlers guild is that after 4 expansions there are too many random encounters and so it is too hard to be able to pick one specific encounter to play, except the ones used on the current expansion.

For the current expansion, it is possible to buy tickets to replay every encounter available you have previously completed on that expansion, but there are no individual tickets to pick a random encounter. If NPS sell tickets for all those encounters it would be perfect.

I could tell you something, but the first rule of Brawler’s Guild is not to talk about Brawler’s Guild.

All blizz focus on now is raids and mythic+, solo content is not their thing anymore.

Dragonflight is literally giving us a whole expansion island full to the brim with solo content.
Though I remain skeptical it’ll carry on past that because it’s Activision Blizzard, this next expansion atleast looks like it’ll be a casual players paradise

Maybe it looks good now but we are not there yet

oh yeah definitely, but it is a genuine, undeniable change of direction.
normally I’m all too present on the “we say this every expansion” train, but it is genuinely different this time.
