Brewfest Chowdown minigame

I can’t even begin to express how stupid this mini-game is.

As an avid collector of mounts, toys, transmogs… I wanted to do this to collect the toy. However it’s completely RNG. I’ve won ONCE in my last 20 attempts because I got lucky. All the other times I lost, not because people were better at managing their choking bar… no, because they got 2 sausages on their plates and I got 5.

On top of that, you need to win this 5 times in order to purchase the toy.
So who knows how long I could be attempting this ridicoulus mini-game before I can finally get the damn toy. The RNG is complete and utter nonsense.

Extremely frustrating. I’ve done plenty of weird things in this game to get that one achievement/toy/transmog/mount. But this… this is the most furious I’ve ever been at the game.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but there is no RNG involved in Brewfest Chowdown
There is a tactics, method if you will to when to eat, when to wait a sec, when to use your keg…
A few tries and you could figure it out

Of course there is damn RNG involved. If I get 5 sausages on my plate and the player next to me only gets 3… that’s RNG.
If I get lucky with RNG, then I can win. If not, there’s no way of catching up.
I just did the mini-game again and I got 5 sausages on my plate every single time while the person next to me got 3.

Yes I know to not eat above 65 on the choke bar. But how can you say there’s no RNG involved if there blatantly is.

It’s easier to go with a group of friends and they let you win.

That would require me to actually have 3 active friends. Considering how dead the game has been for weeks… Nope. Not happening.

Then you need to make some new friends, join a community, join a guild etc.

I always have an active friends list.

I am in a guild with over 400 people. I have 109 bnet friends. Literally only 1 or 2 are online. The rest have all taken a break from the game because it’s been so boring lately.

Telling me to make new friends and basically cheat my way to 4 more wins isn’t exactly the solution you seem to think it is.
On top of that, goodluck trying to get all 4 people to click it and join and not have a random person join alongside.

The problem is the mini-game itself. Not that people need to make new friends and be handed a win. The RNG… the fact that the game often just doesn’t start even when there’s 4 participants. I honestly do not understand how anyone can defend this.

My friends list has evolved constantly over the time I’ve been playing (since TBC) I even had to have regular clearouts in the past. I didn’t mean to cause offense, merely point out that if I relied on my original friendslist it would be pretty dead too.

The fact that there are enough people taking part in the sausage chow down mini game is a pretty good indication there are more than enough active players.

I would suggest reading some hints and tips on how to win the chowdown seeing as you are so adverse to going with friends. That’s how I got mine.

It’s not that I am against going with friends at all. But there are plenty of people out there, including myself, who enjoy being a lonewolf outside of raiding/m+. I think it’s stupid to even have to consider going with friends and cheating your way to victory in order to win a RNG based minigame that is broken half of the time.

From the last hour I’ve noticed that:

  1. You can get significantly more sausages than other players, leaving you at a HUGE disadvantage.
  2. It bugs out half of the time with a player starting at 6 and the rest of us at 0.
  3. It doesn’t matter how well I manage my choke bar and drinking and all that, if another person gets lucky… they win no matter what.

Try ask the people there to cooperate with you?..
Saw that happening today, some randos just decided to help eachother out. They weren’t friends ahead of time, they asked then and there “People wanna join up and take turns?”.

I do not dislike the minigame at all because I:
A) Have friends
B) Know how to be social
C) Got spare accounts so I can legit solo it
D) Just play the game and try be tactical and win.

I’ve done all options above over the years prior.
I no longer care tho and play very little, sadly, but the solution is always: Try be social.
You don’t even have to make long time friends, just temp-friends.

You can always wait until the event’s second week and ask for help/boost. By that time most players should have gotten their trophy and it should be far less competition about getting a seat and arranging a series of games for your benefit.

You can make a party and take turns winning it for it you know… to avoid a person leaving you take turns in winning and not all wins to one person first.

You claim it’s pure rng, but you also claim you’ve won 1 in 20 instead of 5 in 20 which would be the average if it was really just rng. Also sometimes you get afk players that are only trying to complete the quest, increasing your win chance.
If you played it 20 times and you haven’t figured out a strategy, that’s a “you” problem.

If i remember correctly you could just bind the special action button to your mouse wheel.
This allowed you to eat the sausages faster than your fullness meter could keep up allowing you to pretty much instantly empty your plate, but get stunned due to eating too much sausage.
Won 5 times in a row easily with this, but i dont know if its been patched out or not.

Had any luck?

Me and 3 random dudes went at this a few years ago and figured out a way to solo the challenge xD but of course there are tactics
