Brewfest - please help (pink elekks)

Hi!

I haven’t participated in the Brewfest before and I want to farm some tokens. I checked pout guides and videos but I’m really confused.
I can’t find the pink elekk quest anywhere - 40 tokens would be really sad to miss. Glodrak Huntsniper is mia both on Horde an Alliance side.

Has this quest been deleted for this year or is it bugged ooooor?

Not available to EU players

Really? omg… this is just dumb.
Well, thanks for the swift help anyways!

In the old days, we used a net to catch pink eleks.
I used to have a drenai priest (not this one) that still had the quest net lol.

But you had to get roaring drunk back then to be able to see them.

I think that was probably the quest where your character had to get really drunk and for some reason that seems to be a no go for a part of the EU. So we no longer have the quest.

But genocide a whole race and their capital is OK. Thanks blizz for being so caring and Politically correct

This is the same people that brought us morally grey!

I haven’t done Brewfest for a while but I noticed we don’t even get drunk fighting off the attacks any more. It’s a very short lived battle these days.

This had something to do with German laws about what can be in game that’s 12+ or 16+ and what things cause the game to be instantly slapped with 18+ label. For more info & lulz Google up “Fallout 2 german version”. Strange though that the whole combat, skinning, meat, cannibalism, genocide are still in and shooting ALCOHOL-CAUSED HALLUCINATIONS with some energy ray is out. Likely someone did that thing and then nobody even once cared to review it.

I think this is the only festival that’s different in EU. There was also a quest to catch your wolpertinger rather than just buy it.

Yeah well in my part of Europe getting so drunk that you enter a parallel universe is a key part of my culture.
Damn you Blizzard!

Ikr?

I mean, Brewfest is based off Oktoberfest. That’s (afaik) a German festival of beer and pretzels at its most basic
My town used to celebrate it, but over the last 10 years it was whittled down to not even having ether beer or pretzels, and last year/this year not even having an event…and I’m in the UK!
Part of me is glad, because Oktoberfest without beer and pretzels is no Oktoberfest at all…

But if the objections came from Germany… Hypocrisy much?
All they have to do, is also show the downside of too much alcohol. A debuff if you drink too much at once and then throw up uncontrollably. Riding while drunk penalties (if drunk, mounts won’t work for say, 10mins. Flying mounts won’t fly and stay stationary till you are sober)
Mix drinks and your char cant walk straight, falls over a lot.
Debuff where you walk slow cause you ‘craving munchies’ (description: you really could go for a curry or a nice greasy kebab right now)

Hell, that would be just as fun as the original I think lol.
And day after Brewfest, if you got the trophy you get 10mins of red around the screen after logging in, to simulate a hangover.

Indeed I have no idea what made it have to change and the UK is well known for it’s drinking and bad behaviour so it certainly wasn’t us

It’s just so weird that the US, where you can’t legally drink until you’re 21, still has these quests and we, who drink at 18 or less with parents/meals, don’t.

Politically correct is not the right term, politically correct would be to remove something that do not break any law but they do it to avoid being critizied. In this case Blizzard has removed the quests because those are againts some eu’s law and Blizzard just has the obligation to comply to the law, even if we could argue that this law in particular is absurd.

Imagine getting mad over a game. Some crazed old … people rly knows how to ruin other people fun.

Strangely noone give a s. about this 13+ years ago…

Same with the b. word censoring clownfiesta.

By the way, if you want to play those quests because you want to see how the quest its and not just for the reward this year there is an option for EU players to do it. You can complete those quests in PTR. Those quests are available on PTR servers because those servers are shared between EU and USA players and it does not have the restrictions we have on EU servers. Of course the rewards earned on PTR won’t matter for retail characters, but at least this means being able to complete the quests that EU laws forbid us to do and see what we are missing.
