List of changes i’m dreaming about as a brewmaster.
Spinning crane kick: Remove the part that it draws healing spheres towards you, this is very annoying because in m+ at moments when i use the skill i end up consuming my healing spheres at full hp and when i really need them they are gone. I want to be able to ether walk over them when i need to or draw them in with expel harm.
Spirit of the Ox talent: Remove Rising sun kick from there and add Spinning crane kick instead. Rising sun kick has no place in there because it is a talent in the other tree. People should not be obligated to take that talent in the other tree to get the full benefit of the Spirit of the Ox talent.
Adding Spinning crane kick will enable us to stay alive better while kiting on bigger packs etc.
Increase magic reduction on stagger back to 45% instead of the 35% we got now. I believe it used to be 45% pre 10.0.5
Stormstouts last keg: this feels like a pretty mediocre capstone, rework it so it is a combination of +1 keg smash charge and Keg of the heavens (Keg Smash deals an additional 50% damage, heals you for 66% of damage dealt, and grants 66% of damage dealt as maximum health for 10 sec.)
These changes would really make brewmaster awesome to play and a little more beginner friendly.
I did not see myself consuming the orbs when you are full HP. You only start consuming them when you are missing HP. I would not mind this effect disappearing as we use the orbs primarily through expel harm.
I personally do not like this idea. As it stands right now I do not know in what situation you would not take Rising Sun Kick, as it is a very meaty single target damage source. I would much prefer if they add it as an extra, and simply normalise the amount of orbs you get to an average so you do not get more orbs spawning if you use all three.
It should be 45% now, was 35% before unless Blizzard borked up the numbers with the patch.
Currently Stormstout’s last keg is like a mandatory talent if you want to smoothen out your rotation, and adding additional effects to it will only just make it worse.
Instead I feel we should get better ways to mitigate magic damage, which is an area we fall short on.
you will consume orbs when you got stagger dmg up, it will just overheal by a ton.
i dont mind if they use Rising sun kick in it, but the baseline should be wirling dragon and blackout kick. If they want to add Rising sun if you got that talent selected i’m ok with that. I know alot of people will take Rising sun kick, but as the talent currently is you need to take it to get some value out of it, if ppl do not prefer to take rising sun because of button bloat or whatever, they only get 50% of the value of the talent.
Yes they borked up the numbers with the new patch.
it is a mandatory talent and every brewmaster will take it, its just too weak to be a capstone. Adding the shadowlands 4 piece to it would make it a great Capstone talent.
(the: Keg Smash deals an additional 50% damage, heals you for 66% of damage dealt, and grants 66% of damage dealt as maximum health for 10 sec.) => also helps vs magic dmg mitigation.
As for magic dmg mitigation, like so many already suggested, up the 45% to a higher passive %
i want to preface my post by unrelatedly saying i love the amount of buttons a brew has access to and i never want to see blizzard remove any more buttons from this class. there are plenty of other classes (and tanks) to play if you don’t want to deal with having a large amount of abilities to utilize.
SCK: saw a post before, somebody had a really nice idea for dealing with the current state of orbs overhealing from SCK. while i personally don’t like SCK sucking in orbs, it could absolutely instead of overhealing provide a 12-15s shield for the equivalent or percent amount of overhealing absorbed, also benefiting from celestial fortune.
Ox: i don’t want RSK removed as 1) its an outstanding source of damage for ST and PvP, and a certain debuff stack +1, and 2) its a cool ability and i like using it, but the glyph for RSK needs to be fixed to work on brews, as does the orbs glyph. i also don’t agree with the idea that you should not feel obligated to take RSK as many other talents in spec trees also are impacted and add additional ability effects based on what base class talents you’ve taken. RSK is cool, why don’t you like it?
magic stagger: if our magic stagger got accidentally nerfed, that definitely should be reverted to at minimum 45%, if not buffed even further to at least 50%.
some further self healing may not be entirely necessary but would be nice to have. perhaps instead of keg smash healing more vivify could be buffed instead, for more on demand healing. on an off note, i also believe tiger palm could easily do an extra 50% damage and/or have its energy cost cut by 5. our mastery is also questionable, as it does fulfill its purpose, its rather boring. perhaps more interactions with dodge procs would be interesting, or the ability to dodge magic at a lower rate?
this isn’t even going into stuff like blackout combo’s current issue with purifying and celestial working improperly. brew doesn’t need a whole lot at all, but some small buffs will really bring the class’ strengths to light.
They should just delete bm monks i can literally face roll on my keyboard on warr, dh, druid, pala, and pull infinitely more mobs on them and do nothing like push 1 or 2 buttons and im fine more than fine actually solidly good i would say now on monk tho the story is so diffrent it kinda makes me think did the devs have a moment of maddness and think to themselves you know what we need a dps tank but they cant be tanky just very dpsy cause thats the way it feels i can pull mad dps like really mad dps but jesus i am a wet paper bag a strong breath can put me over and this is tank spec??? What it makes no sense other tanks its litrally a face roll(other brewmaster if you havnt tried other tanks do cause you will see that the differences are huge like cataclysmicly huge) why make a tank spec if you dont want to make it tanky have self sustain you know the bog standard for tanks? Like are the devs nuts or something? I can safely say i loved brewmaster they were great and fun and cool i however will not be playing them again till somethings fixed cause its just not fun and before anyone says but they have so many ablities blah blah blah having tons of buttons that do nothing or next to nothing is not fun its just stupid.
