Are they just bad at everything that isn’t a raid/m+ setting where you are taking huge hits?
Soloing on this guy I seem to have
very low damage
no self-sustain/healing outside of facetanking mobs and hardcasting vivify (zero sum)
long defensive cooldowns you have to talent into
you will die to “death by a thousand cuts” if you pull as many mobs as other tanks can, as stagger does practically nothing to mitigate lots of smaller hits and like I already mentioned, you have nothing like death strike or frenzied regeneration to keep yourself alive.
I want to like this class as I enjoy their mobility and general feel to play, but they seem flimsy on their own and almost entirely dependent on a healer due to how their mitigation works. It’s a bummer.
I have leveled this toon only in dungeons (after lvl15) as a brewmaster. Yes, I agree, its way harder than e.g. warrior, but once you get the black ox statue, lvl 60 talent, the dungeons start to flow more.
I’m not saying it was bad experience, it actually made me a better player because the lack of AOE and I had to be more careful with the pulls. Now at lvl 80 brewmaster is so fun to play. Don’t lose your hope.
we don’t get important abilities until very late compared to other tanks at lowers levels you dont have statue, celestial fortune, mastery and rushing jade wind. At max level with the right azerite traits, essences and trinkets you feel very sturdy especially if you stack versatility corruptions, however we’re losing all of that in shadowlands in return for celestial brew so we’re gonna be needing more healer attention
