right its a tea drinker spec :fire: :fire:

Itā€™s Monday, the weekend threads should be over now.

Brewmaster Monks are in my opinion the most fun tank spec to play at the moment, and yes I play all tank specs actively except for Guardian Druid (never been a fan of Druid, donā€™t like the shapeshifting). With the correct talents for your situation, Brewmaster Monks can withstand heavy damage with the correct damage mitigation and defensive cooldowns, and/or also do impressive damage- both single target and aoe.

I heavily recommend the spec to anyone, both beginners to tanking but also experienced and veteran people.

Brewmaster has 4% in M+ population
There is something wrong

What is bro talkin about

I donā€™t know why that is, I only gave my opinion about the spec.

A weekend thread is usually a thread where the creator is not serious about the topic or is trolling. But I think I was a bit harsh, apologies.

its cool its cool

okay, have you tried it in M+? how does it feel

so you are trash talking brew without even trying it ā€¦

To call brewmaster boring should be criminal. If anything itā€™s the most fun tank!

However it is indeed in need of rework and buffs to stay viable for harder content that isnā€™t raids.

However theyā€™re not as unplayable as the community moans about! They were THE tank to gobble up tank busters last season the easiest (bc of how stagger works). But playing one in M+ quickly becomes unrewarding if youā€™ve ever tried another tank.

The spec is so fun to me, but it has some glaring problems, the biggest is probably how fragmented it is, you have the brew plate spinning package, then you have the new ox stance package, the dodge heavy mastery package, some self healing scattered randomly, hero talents that just add a bit of numbers here and there without really altering your gameplay

The spec just needs an identity overhaul, or to allow you to fully commit to either being a dodge heavy tank for example, or a pure stagger based tank, because right now it feels like it just has a bit of everything but not enough to truly rely on and lean in to

No it doesnā€™t. It may have 4% amongst tanks which isnā€™t remotely the same thing.

Itā€™s fine to not play brewmaster if you dont like the spec and enjoy other tanks more. And if you want a serious discussion, then maybe give some proper feedback about what it is that makes it unfun and unplayable for you.

I find it fun. Iā€™ve been maining Paladin(Both tank and dps) for a long time but recently I felt in underwealming. So I switched main to Monk and just love it. Windwalker is insane and what a mobility one have, and Brewmaster is fun and different. Havent tried BM in m+ yet, just in delves though.

Monk is the most underplayed class in WoW, but I donā€™t think itā€™s a reflection on its class design - because Windwalker is a lot of fun and frankly a more enjoyable playing experience than a lot of DPS specs. Brewmaster I have less experience with but itā€™s definitely on the more unique side of the tanks with its stagger mechanic.

Edit: If Brewmasters are 4% of M+ tanks, then I believe they are actually overrepresented in that role compared to their overall representation in class choice (though this does need to be weighed against there being only 6 tanks), though I canā€™t recall the precise percentage off the top of my head.

Brewmaster monks and holy priests, the two hated children that blizzard want us disappear.

Yet Iā€™m maining one because of how fun it is?

Chinese was trendy at the time.
Lich King was also trendy Norse.
These are marketing issues. Holypriest will always be around. Donā€™t get too hung up on fake classes, they have to sell the game.

Iā€™m not main tank but I tanked some content and Iā€™d say brewmaster is fairly easy to spec, has good survival, self-reliance and in last season was perfect for 11+ tier delves (before this season nerf) to just go without any issues and complete them. IDK what you bro about

I on the other hand hate prot pala - the rotation which is basically repeatedly spamming judgment and hammer - both feel like 0.5 sec CD spells - might literally break your keys on the keyboard and make my fingers hurt.
THE ONLY FRIGGING SPEC IN the ENTIRE GAME WHERE I FEEL ā€œSICKā€ after playing is prot pala.

and im still cooler than you

Iā€™m main Brew and is not bad. It as some problem, but is actually a super fun and complete tanking experience.
The main problem with brew vs other tank are 2:
1 - is that heā€™s missing a ā€œgimmickā€ utility, in m+ more then in raid.
2 - Blizzard do still not understand that if 1 is missing, dps should compensate for that but is scaried that brew became stronger then dps because of this

Paladin has aoe silence and cr, bdk massgrip cr and autoress, war stun and spellreflect, dh circle and higher mobility

Monk need a stronger ā€œgimmikā€ some idea like:

  • reverse ring of peace that mob canā€™t get out for X sec while in (talent option)
  • a defensive group cd like the pvp talent that take group dmg into stagger dmg, like 20% group dmg go to stagger (this should be made for raid utility)
  • change the monk statue from aoe taunt to aoe pulse silence every 10 sec
  • stagger work 100% with physical and 60% with magicā€¦ just set all dmg to 100%, it became more important to clean right and brew management became more relevant, so talent that increase with stagger level will be influenced too

Or just ignore every suggestion, just give us like 20-30% more dmg and call it a day
