Brewmaster - some anecdotal information (mitigation / weapon type / etc)

just wanted to share with those that are interested about some changes I have implemented with my brewmaster upon gearing up more & learning how to play better.

  1. Item Level increased from around 599 to 606. Not sure if this made a difference but for sure something changed.

  2. Switched from Master of Harmony to Shado-Pan. I finally realized that I was using Master of Harmony as a crutch to have two charges of celestial brew available, not understanding that the most efficient use is when I am dealing with elevated amounts of stagger (in which case one charge is sufficient).

  3. Watched a video about Blackout Combo (Banana) and how to do it properly. Swapped my talents around.

  4. I was previously using two 1-handed weapons for aesthetics. Upon unlocking the PVP achievement for 2500 conquest, I got a 2h champion spear.

  5. Using Weapons of Order on new packs instead of holding onto it.

  6. Talent that delays stagger damage another 3 seconds.

Observations:

I noticed my damage basically go through the roof in PVE. Everything was hitting harder and I started seeing 1.3-1.5 million tiger palms. Stagger is now up to 35%, which while not a lot, I feel a difference compared to 31-32%.

On the Raider’s Tanking Dummy (Crystalmaw), I was previously having a very difficult time getting past 8 or 9 stacks of the damage buff. I just tried it out again and I got up to 23 stacks. This is the highest I have gotten to on any of my tank characters (though this one has the best gear).

I have run through three bountiful tier 8 delves now and it was easy mode / face tank everything. I also dropped two talents in transcendence that let me heal twice, because again, this was a crutch I think.
