Bring back "auto bubble" from Legion

Back in Legion, I thought the idea of giving Paladins the ability to automatically trigger Divine Shield like a Rogue’s Cheat Death was a terrible idea.

But solo shuffle didn’t exist back then.
Now that I’m a healer in shuffle, and now that I’ve lost countless rounds thanks to my Paladin/Mage team mate not using their main defensive skills during the first sap of the game, I’ve changed my mind.

Thoughts?

This is the buff ret palas need. It’s a tragedy how much they are currently underperforming.

Sure give them everything, why not, its not that far to that happening anyway

Yeah, i agree on this, give this back

Big damage comes and goes. Their numbers will be nerfed eventually.

My criticism is consistent every single season, regardless of tuning.

Making it work like cheat death would be absurdly overpowered. But how about making it auto trigger when they fall below 60% health? That might actually be a reasonable nerf to pala defenses.

But why?
They have a tons of defensives.
Automatic freedom to partner
Shield of vengeance every one min
1 min cd 30% dmg reduction
Spellwarding
Divine shield
Melee shield
Lay on hands
Sacrifice to partner.
Update: eye for an eye buff
+stun fear removal buff for healer xD

Id say if someone cant go at least 2,1k with ret is not class based problem.

I know its hard with healer, but those rets deserves to die.

Imagine with warlock we only have a 3 min cd 40% dam reduction, with a dampening suffered healthstone xd

I hope ret dmg and defensives will be nerfed cause its really really a meta in pvp.

On serious note: think Pala should get mortal strike And Spell that resets all cds of everyone in grp. Then ret might be finally playable

Remove auto iceblock as it happened with auto bubble and mage is fixed in some sort of way

I should have waited for Paladins to be nerfed before making this thread, none of you can think with a clear mind right now.

Its not a tuning discussion ,its a design topic. No tuning will fix or save broken design

No. Look at the other answers. People aren’t considering the idea because ret is currently broken and they don’t want them to become even easier to climb with.

Replies to this thread would have been different in a season where ret is C tier.

I dont know if replies were different 100% , still there would be ppl who maybe be unpleasant when the face rets. My point is that auto bubble looks like auto iceblock. These 2 mechanics forgive the wrong timing of usage of these spells which it doenst fit in the arena where mechanics awarness etc matter .
Maybe the fit for PvE and that’s totally fine but for arena i dont think so. Geneally cheat death effects (except rogue) and auto cast immunties fit more on tank roles in PvE enviroments rather than in arena .

ret pala players are so shameless like they have bilion defs to press for whole grp, YET they asking to ALSO make it automatic on top of that xDDD lets goo

Lol paladins are already catering to such a wide audience with a simple playstyle, please lets not go backwards any further on making them even easier to play. The game isn’t meant to be played for you  if you commit a gcd to healing instead of bubbling or dpsing, thats on you.

I’m not a paladin player. I find this class boring.
Your accusations are meaningless.

then why are u coming with such evil ideas man. U should be sent jail for this

Try healing in a season where everyone is FOTM rerolling to ret like this one.

The first CC of the game, where your team mates both have all of their defensives, and you lose immediately in the first 10 seconds after the opening of the gates just because that FOTM rerolling paladin didn’t use Divine Shield.
Same thing with FOTM rerolling Arcane Mages not using Ice Block.

These players have lost me so many rounds it’s just soul crushing.
It’s even worse when they do that on round 1/6 because you just know they’ll start waking up for the next 5 rounds and you’re going to lose 2-4 because of it.

Then every spec in game should have it automatic. SP auto disperse, mage auto block etc. Why just palas who are curently strongest spec in game anyway

I also mentioned ice block.

It’s different with complete immunities like these two because as a healer, you just know your ally has a way to completely stop 100% of all damage coming their way, even if they’re in CC.

That’s not the case for other defensives. A Hunter can’t turtle while stunned for example, so if I see my Hunter team mate stunned, I know I have to trinket the CC I’m in to protect them. But with a paladin ally, I will actually sit the CC, because I expect them to bubble in that situation.
