I know this topic comes up from time to time, and it’s a sentiment shared by many in the community. I just wanted to share that I’ve finally embraced my inner goblin and managed to save up enough gold to afford a longboi. It’s always been a mount that caught my eye, but I never fully appreciated its value until now. Honestly, it’s a must-have for any aspiring trader or goblin.
The black market system is a joke. We’ve had multiple gold sinks, so why was the only truly valuable one removed? It makes no sense.
Consider the amount of gold that would be gone from circulation, the countless hours people would spend grinding for it, and the lazy players who might just spend a fortune on tokens to get it. Most importantly, think about all the players—both new and those who have recently achieved something significant—who either didn’t have the opportunity to buy it before or have finally earned enough to afford it now.
You mean the Auction House mount right? Seriously, I agree it should still be available in game to purchase. And not just through the Black Market. I think there should be opportunities to get these mounts in later expansions, even if it’s at the same or slightly harder difficulty level.
Someone said Blizzard felt it was some kind of mistake to give that to people. They didn’t give me a source though. So I’m just repeating what the grapevine said.
the problem is they made it happen ,now you have half of traders whit a huge advantage, and half struggling.
its insane how much of a game changer that mount is
I’m not asking for it to be free, I’m asking for it to go back to its original price. It’ll still be pretty rare outside of major cities, we’re still talking millions of gold and hundreds of dollars.
I’m not at all suggesting that you are asking for it for free. I just personally think it’s nice for thing like this to remain a bit special and a rarity to see.
It would be nice to see more modern gold sinks that also become a ‘you had to be there’ kind of thing. Like Woodstock.
However, I must express my concern that your request may inadvertently contribute to a culture of FOMO (fear of missing out). I believe we should exercise caution in this regard.
Furthermore, I find it somewhat disrespectful that the sole distinguishing feature for Longboi owners is the time period during which they played the game. It seems that other significant factors, such as the time and dedication invested in achieving this mount, are being overlooked.
In my opinion, the emphasis on the availability period of this mount, overshadows the goldmaking aspect of it.
I don’t think you can call FOMO a culture. Only you can decide whether something is worth missing out on or not.
If the mount was intended to be up for a limited time, the removal of it isn’t disrespectful, its just a minor inconvenience for those who want it.
The grind (if that’s what you wanted to do rather than tokening) is over for this mount. There is nothing to overlook.
This reply seems chat gpt’d to me. I understand if English isn’t your first language but I do feel like I’m replying to a bot. (only because its a lot more formal than your other replies and original post)
I’m gonna be honest here, its not chat gbt but i do use smthg to help me correct my spelling .Dont know why you felt like pointing it out, but i did it to try to get my point across in a clear way,im srry if it back fired. sure if you wanna think of the money that went into tokens sales be my guest but dont forget that anything in this game can be achieved whit the correct amount of gold…
Not to be rude or anything, its just your writing style suddenly changed and it threw me a bit. Sorry if that isn’t the case. I am terrible at spelling and grammar myself.
We can agree to disagree on the obtainability of longboi.
