Ah the topic of the longboi, one of few mounts that has actual usage and the only such that has been made ubobtainable. It was one of their stupidest decision to add such a mount to the game, and it IS their stupidest decision ever to remove it.
This mount is the reason why I will hoard my gold forever without spending, because who knows when Blizzard will do such a whimsical thing to put something special functionality to the game and then just remove it. I did not have the funds in BFA, having skipped the two previous expansions, and playing really casually, but I hoard my gold ever since, and will never spend it because they might introduce some special mount for 50 million gold that I want.
Just put it back, even for goldcap, having something that unique for a 2 year period and removing them forever is stupid. Or as a general rule, just stop removing content from the game.

Thats why it would have been so funny, imagine the carnage that would follow.
If they make it the token equivalent of BfA it’s going to have a hefty pricetag

They could give us a version without the vendors. I know a few players who want the longboi because they love how it looks. They couldn’t care less about the vendors.
Cool. 99% of people want it for the AH though.

I am no AH expert, but I worked on what I could in BFA, had around 2M, then they announced it…
They rely so much on fomo now its disgusting.
Given the amount of players who spent 10 million for this mount on the BMAH every time it comes up instantly, it is very unlikely they would ever return it to the vendor and if they did, it would be at gold cap.
If you’re happy to pay double the original price, then sure, that’d be fine by me but I’m certain if it returned for sale at 10 mil, everybody would just be crying that it’s too expensive and original owners got it for half (which we did).
There’s no fair way to re-release it in a store without screwing the BMAH buyers.
Would pay an obscene amount to see a flying Longboi.
Also agree that it needs to be on the vendor. Ive been a goblin and played the AH over the last few years and have had a capped gold char sat at BMAH every single night at its reset. Not once have i seen it in 2.5 years on my realm cluster and before then it was unobtainable as they messed its spawn up and set the % chance to be on there extremely low.
Put it back on the vendor at 5m gold FOMO and removing things due to ‘keeping them rare’ needs to die.

Personally, I’d like to see it return. At the time (and even now) 5 mill is a lot of gold. Most players like myself don’t have that amount on hand, or never reach our first million. At the time I was farming as hard as I could to get it, but as a non-raider or streamer that can’t sell idiotic raid runs or whine on twitch for gold, and AH market tanking, it was never gonna happen.
However, it could be some hope for TWW as gold is easier to make, while 5 mill still being a long grind. I’m a casual and waste gold a lot, but even I’ve managed to casually farm up 4-500k since release by myself with no crafting or boe drops, but there’s really nothing to save up for or spend it on that would benefit a player like myself, so having stuff like this to grind for would be really cool.

There will always be things which don’t get brought back for whatever reason. I’d sell my back teeth for the challenge mode shoulders, for example, or the first AOTC wolf mount - had I realised that they were never coming back, I’d have swallowed my pride and used gold to pay for a carry (as no way would I have got gold without it, or beaten the heroic raid - I’m a casual). But I didn’t, and I didn’t, and so I’ll just have to go without.
As for the dinosaur, I did get it. I bust a gut to do so - in my case, farming stupid numbers of dungeons to build the Mecha-Mogul mount (which gave me a profit of around 70K a time), as well as farming pets to sell, farming old crafting reagents, you name it. It was even more time-consuming that the things I didn’t get, even if it took less skill.
At least unlike the bits I’m regretting not getting you can, in theory, get it on the BMAH.
So - how about this? A bit like the way Hatespark the Tiny and the Core Hound mount are coming back for the 20th event later this year, tie them (and things like AOTC mounts from several expansions back, and the Brutosaur) to anniversary events. Maybe have a vendor that only pops then, or require tokens which can only be farmed during the anniversary (plus some gold in the Brutosaur’s case), or something like that. It would be a great way to bring back other unobtainable things too…
Like Blizzard would care about BMAH buyers? See the Twitch/Amazon Prime TCG items, or T3 buyers, or the Anniversary mount buyers, Garrosh shoulders… This is not really a valid concern.
BMAH as a concept is extremely predatory from every angle you see it, and the game would be better without it, but it’s a huge goldsink and there is an entire economy built around playing the BMAH so Blizzard apparently likes it.
We are talking about a mount that has a unique functionality, that was briefly available for a single expansion, with no other substitution available. This is bad game design.
For all I care they can keep the dinosaur and put an AH NPC on a generic pixelated vanilla horse, I would buy it.
Who cares? theyve had the use of it since BFA (so what 4+ years). Well worth the 5m gold they paid.
Put it on the trading post for 10k tenders or something or lets really annoy people and put it as a twitch drop for all to get.
FOMO should not be a thing in MMO, everything could and should be obtainable even old glad mounts, mage tower appearances, challenge mode tmogs etc.
