He lost against the Horde and their allies. Being outnumbered is not a shame.

I liked him well enough, but it doesnât really make sense for him to come back or to join up with the Horde if he did come back. Nathanos always was devoted to Sylvanas first and the Horde second at best.

There are many problems with Nathanos return.
First of all, his body should already be deformed. Even if no one burned his body, it should have been left to decompose for more than 2 years. If Nathanos still exists, he is currently a disembodied soul. Sylvanas used his family body and a special ritual to bring him back to life, I donât think good sylvans would use a similar ritual again. How will Nathanos even react to the return of Ranger General Sylvanas, who is nothing like the Banshee queen?
Secondly, what would be his purpose now? Forsaken see him as a traito who left them, all of Azeroth as an enemy. Even if he reconciles with Sylvanas, how will her good soul respond to all the horrors he has committed. He wasnât manipulated like Sylvanas, he simply followed her every order without hesitation.
Thirdly, his return will take away the only thing that Tyrande has achieved in the entire expansion. Every other plan she had failed. If Nathanos returns, Tyrandeâs entire presence in SL will no longer matter
My little hope is that Elune somehow stole Nathanos soul. We know she can manipulate souls so she took him to make sure Sylvanas wouldnât try anything again. However, he will definitely reunite with Sylvanas like was foreshadow Forsaken herritage quest.

Nathanos was a great character we need more stoic sassy and snarky people who do not treat us like gods every time we meet them.
Nathanos Blightcaller was brown nosing Sylvannas all the time. Didnât think of how to crush any that would disagree with or challenge his Queen.
There should be new characters. Fresh blood and new champions. Not constantly recycling old characters and finished stories.
It would make death even more meaningless than it already is.
To bring back Nathanos Blightcaller is no different to bringing back Guldan another 18000 times or bringing back Arthas Menethil back from the dead or his reincarnation or something. Maybe bring back Garrosh Hellscream as well?
The past is gone. Have to move forward. Nathanos Blightcaller will not fit into the current Horde anyway.

There is loyalty among the Horde whether it was beneficial to them or not.

Nathanos will kill every single member of the Horde if it was in service to Sylvannas. What could possibly be gained by bringing him back?

There is a difference between loyalty and blind obedience and Erevien does not and will not understand it.
Bain, for example, is loyal to the Horde, but does not blindly follow orders when Sylavans threw the last shred of decency and honor of the Horde overboard by awakening Derek against his will and using him as a weapon.

Replenish the population. Rebuilding the infrastructure - economy - society and territories. Have tried and failed to explain things to Erevien.
There are not infinite armies. Peace is needed to rebuild - the war orphans will have to become adults. Not magically aged like the Horde did before.
Loyalty to the position is an issue. Like Warchief. Some have followed Garrosh and Sylvannas regardless of their actions.
