I felt as if the box mounts in legion really added an actual incentive to do the world quests outside of emissary quests. I know people complain about ‘‘but muh deterministic bla bla bla’’
Mounts dont impact gameplay, theyre cosmetic and prestige, BFA reps are literally worthless, they reward nothing bar unlocking allied races. It would be fun to have at least some incentive to go out in the world no matter how small it is.
I would be fine with that assuming shadowlands zones are aesthetically pleasing to look at repetitively… and they will likely be, more so than the previous two expansions. But… I hope I wouldn’t need to split the grind across characters. It would be bad.
Add to that, bring back the PvPvE tower quests for honor as well those were nice.
Please no. Never add paragon box mounts ever again.
Instead add deterministic long term reputation goals after exalted.

I think this line of thinking could/should apply to lots of other aspects of the game too.
I think there needs to be a healthy mix of both, but bespoke or unique things from post progression should never be random, or at the very least not as egregious as paragon box mounts were.
You know what was a great example of bespoke deterministic long term rewards?
Artifact weapon skins.

Mounts as RNG rewards from the Paragon boxes were a widely criticized feature of Legion. I remember there used to be a new thread on the forums every couple days about how terrible that system was. To the point that Ion Hazzikostas had to pinky swear they won’t be a thing in BfA.
I can give you that Paragon rep boxes in BfA are bland and lackluster (I mean, most of the sh!t in BfA is Legion stuff but more bland and lackluster…), but adding back a thing that was widely criticized won’t help. How about we get something actually useful in them instead of a lottery ticket for a cosmetic item. How about augment runes? Or rare crafting materials? Expulsom? Hell, why not a flask or a couple Battle Potions tied to your loot spec? If you’re a raider or a key pusher or a crafter, you’d love to get that kind of stuff, if you’re not any of the above, just throw it on the AH and get some dolla dolla bills.
They’ve currently got Rank 4 essence skins, which if you care about them are proving to as frustrating as paragon mounts were in legion.
I’d like Paragons to return but, can we get some really funky looking mounts to aim for? I thought most of them looked a bit bland outside of the Stormheim dragon which was, at the time, the only way to get one as a mount.
Please no more paragon mounts, they already broke the promise of not adding them to the BfA paragon boxes but lo and behold we had one for the Nazjatar factions.
To much RnG already so no thanks especially for us mount collectors who have a thankless task already.

I disagree on bringing back paragon Mounts in shadowlands. But i feel ok to keep it for the toy.
I remember in legion to be demotivated for Paragon Mounts farming with world quest since they were like " a mount everyone want that so let’s put low the drop rate " but so low i’ve never get my carpet even with 1 year of intense farming on nightfallen.
But for the toy on BFA it felt ok, idk why but when i farmed it (drustvar/proudmoore) i’ve got motivated since it was the just RNG ( for example tortollans i’ve got it involontary and felt happy).
There’s just the fact that i can’t get toy from horde Paragon that disgust me ( not able to get it throught 7th Legion).
I think the change they made from Legion to BFA is the Variety of World Quest they have made for 1 reputation and lore respected.
I would like to see the same systems of BFA for Reputation and keeping Mounts Reputation buyable but high cost like the gryphon of proudmoore (that gryphon make me proud to get it… ok i’m out for that joke !)
That’s a good thing in my books. This expansion has lasted almost 2 years now, if the reason to go out in the world was the same as it was at the start of the expansion then that’d be pretty boring.
18 months 2 years in August but i agree with what you say and how long it feels.
Oh my bad, well knowing legions paragon mounts the comment would still hold true in 6 months 
How about :
Open exalted box third time - get mount
Open exalted box 10th time - color v2
Open exalted box 20th time - color v3
Something like that ?
