Classic consists of 3 parts: Vanilla, TBC, WotLK. The developers appear to have forgotten that. Over the course of the last 6 years we have so far had:
It seems like the developers are too focused on one particular part of the game. Please bring back TBC / Wrath servers in any form (the best occasion for this is to let us copy our SoD characters there). Yes, Vanilla has some special things that the other 2 parts do not, but it works the other way around as well.
The amount of threads dedicated to such requests recently suggests that there is a good demand for it. I am certain that even a plain no-changes-TBC would be decently popular if you open the portal in the end of SoD.
Shsss nobody cares about those stupid expansions, and also btw they have made a petision for people to sign if they want wotlk era server it only got 600 signatures in 4 month clearly nobody cares just stop cry and go play on warmane and let us enjoy Cata. .!.
He posted the video just 1 hour after I created this thread. Peculiar how so many people suddenly started to want TBC back precisely now. Only proves how there’s demand for it
i don’t know about SoD transfer to TBC, but i’d go playing TBC if they opened a server tomorrow.
SoD is not enough to keep me subbed and i don’t do retail, once my game time run out at beginning of next month im probably gone
fresh TBC with balanced factions and no GDKP yes pls
Agree with you. I started playing SoD only due to the hope of its possible transitioning to TBC. I wouldn’t have started if they had told us there 100% would be no TBC afterwards. No desire to beta-test a weird version of vanilla.
Well, I didn’t even know SoD was just a beta test, so you were better informed than I was
Blizzard should just open three TBC servers and increase them if demand is there, prety sure there is at least enough demand to fill 3 servers NA/EU
Unfortunately that is likely not going to happen due to a very sad reason:
They want to artificially create scarcity of the product by quite literally not producing it. They do it so that when they create a new TBC project all people who have been nostalgic about it will be almost forced to play. This will not happen if there are always operating servers. So they kinda create demand artificially and then satisfy it in bulk. Apparently they deem it a better business model than maintaining 1-2 servers of each expansion at all times.
But on the bright side, we will almost certainly get another TBC project, the question is when and how
In my opinion, they should pick the best from all the expansions TBC & WOTLK to Vanilla SoD.
The main questions are : what was the best and the worst ? what should we keep from the classics version of the game to have the best version ?
just waiting out my subscribtion until next month and iam out aswell
tried the SoD and didn’t like it, rather not play a game mode i will lose my progress on and pay to test their weird game modes,
either a Classic+ or just give me TBC servers
Iam willing to play, Classic era to 60 get all my stuff done, pay 25€s to clone my char to TBC do the same there, finish Wotlk and pay 25€+ euro to clone or transfer that over when i did it all completed and continue all the way to current Retail.
but right now, there is no option for that so back to private servers it is i guess.
TBC and Wotlk are my most liked once, with TBC standing on nr 1, might have to do with how progression worked in TBC i think
Classic playerbase is bigger than that of Retail. Classic as such is simply much harder to monetise, Blizzard cannot sell us new expansions, unlimited character boosts and store mounts. All they get is our sub money, therefore much lower profits.
The only reason why retail gets more development resources is because they can take more money off of you losers
