They should have come back with the mage tower tbh. Cant see em ever adding anything that was obtainable ingame onto the trading post.

In that case they should change their business model and go from subscription to f2p. What’s the point of paying monthly fee when you could come five years later and receive the same reward? But even games without subscription like Overwatch and D3/D4 have limited time offers.

FOMO/Prestige are major tools for Blizzard to keep people playing. They want you playing now and giving them your sub fees now.
What better way than to make people fear losing out on pieces, and making them feel prouder for sticking around? Maybe it’ll feel the same next time it happens. Oh, better not leave then and risk missing something!
People’ll become envious looking at the “prestige” gear of others. They’ll want to avoid missing out again, and stick around so they can try and snap up some of their own.
Mage Tower skins and Challenge Mode weapons/armour will more than likely only come back (maybe in the Trading Post?) once Blizzard are sure that doing so won’t topple the illusion. After all, why play now when you can just wait until the stuff you want is back?
They’ve clearly started testing the waters with ancient mounts. People have complained but not in high numbers. Could be just that those items are so old and now technically niche?

probably in trading post after they add new rewards to mage tower which doesn’t seem like happening anytime soon

I still think they should bring them back.

People really need to get over the unobtainable stuff anymore.
Be happy that you are getting TCG mounts in the trading post and recolors of other stuff.
You can still get Tomb of Sargeras recolor in current Mage Tower.
You mean the same way i can walk into a mythic raid & collect sets? it’s cosmetic & they were easy so nothing has been devalued
