How do you know that necromancer is not already developed ,chillin on some usb and ready to be added to game when they think its good moment ?

Warlock 4th spec. Healer or tank. Yes +++

A perfect Necro class should be able to raise skeletons and skeleton mages at least… (see D2 Era)
And what about the “iron maiden” or “poison nova” skill-curse, which class can have it? DK or warlock? Noone (it’s imba skill though can win anyone)
Tbh DK it’s more close…

Give locks another legendary “book” then for demonology,
instead of turning fire spells FEL GREEN.

You summon skeletons and whatnot.

You mean magus of the dead ? All will serve ? Skeleton glyph ?

honestly, im sick and tired of another dps spec or class. we need more tanks and healers.

how do u know ur not living in a simulation right now

Rising and commanding undead and using “death magic”… thats… uhm… sounds pretty necromantic to me… heck, if you wish, you even could wear robes as a DK! Would be fragile as hell, but you could do it

Looks at the skills Vampric Touch and Vampiric Embrace, talent San’layn, or Dissipate to ‘fog’… oh and Mincontrol
Move along, nothing to see here :bat:

The Ancient Eredar’s toying with the soul and binding it in to constructs I think borderline necromancy

Necromancer - I love to see that spec. DK and lock can fit into that area.

The addition of WW and especially, Demon Hunter, has made it abundantly clear that adding more specializations to the game further deteriorates what every other class has to offer in terms of unique expression.

36 specializations is more than enough room for having something for any kind of player.

What I would want though, are class “skins”. An idea that is built around altering ability animations as well as names to fit a fantasy, but let the mechanics and gameplay remain identical to its reference.

Warlocks could have a necromancer “skin”
Mages could get a Blood Mage skin
Engineer - Hunter
Runeblade - Death Knight
Paladins could get “mystic” or even spellbreaker for Belfs exclusively e.g.

Realistically, it’ll likely never happen. I can’t imagine them settling on what classes gets to have a “skin” since certain classes undoubtedly has less room for creative leeway than others.

I dread the idea of them adding more classes/specs though. Every new addition stretches the already existing classes, thinner.

Warlocks summon demons so are different from Necromancers who summon the dead. At least from a lore and visual point of view.

DKs are the closest thing we have to Necromancers.

However I do think they could make them different enough to DKs to work. I think if their focus was summoning dead players and using their corpses. For example you kill say an Orc Warrior in a BG, you then raise him, this then in turn opens up a list of new abilities you can then use. Like sacrifice your soul which kills the Orcs spirit but provides an AOE heal or Pergatory which adds 10 seconds to the Orcs revival time at the GY.

My favourite would be Double Agent which is restore the Orc to life under your command but to the Horde will appear as normal. Spreads a disease or bleed effect to all friendly players. Lats 10 secs.

These are just made up on the spot but the point is they could make it different enough I think.

I really want to see a Holy/Light Caster DPS spec/class. We have had two dark and sinister classes already so time for something different me thinks.

Unholy DK’s can’t wield staffs, daggers or tomes. Have you ever heard of an sword, axe or hammer of necromancy?

When it come to combat, a necromancer pulls a Kel’Thuzad (human) and die like a wimp
The necromancer’s aresanal is about death magic and rising undead …
Sword of Necromancy was a nice weapon tho’ in D&D :stuck_out_tongue:

Just no, no more classes, at least until they have balanced and sorted out all the classes we already have first.

Maybe it’s not, but there’s too many aspects of a ‘necromancer’ that are already used in other classes. So the only way to make that new class viable is to take away that stuff from the original classes… Do you honestly think that will go down well with the players?

No to necromancer.

I’d be down for a necromancer/ banshee class, with dps and healing specs.

How… a Nacromancer or a Banshee would heal you exactly?
Just curious how you envision it

Remember darkshore warfront? There’s a banshee form that you can shift into. It’s labelled as a healer.

Just like that one.

Edit: example of healing spell.

Yeah, thats true
Tho’ most ppl rather die than let a banshee “heal” im
Would be resurected as an udnead, but still
Anyhow, yeah, you are right… could work

Can’t help seeing that as an option for a warlock healing spec.
