With the Necromantic new powers which Shadowlands expansion is bringing, I think it’s time for the Necromancer class to be born.

Necromancer can be a spec for warlock but never a new class. Warlock already is using more than one type of magic~ Fel and Shadow/Void. Not to mention that Necromancer is a Warlock by description of old lore (not retconned yet?). Its Nethrezim race that first wielded Necromancy and teached it to Warlocks of Burning Legion.
(Scourge is just a broken tool of Burning Legion)
Maybe they keeping Necromancer as fourth warlock spec as Ace in sleeve.

Too late for SL.
It’s alpha, they’re testing stuff to get rid of gamebreaking bugs, not creating content or classes. A new class would’ve required months of development and would’ve been announced long ago.

yeh bro they are just gonna do 3 years of dev time in the next few months cause u asked, good one.
But eh… you probably know that SL didn’t revealed some “necromantic new powers” yet, don’t you? Why do you always need a new class. Isn’t it bad enough that they aren’t able to fix the old ones? Shouldn’t this be their #1 priority in such case?
I don’t want new classes, but I want some to get reworked into having adequate representation in the game. Not be a 3,4 tier choice for content
Why do people want necromancers so much? 
I think people just want a new class (not that they should release one before they figure out how to balance the current ones) and they are thinking about the most likely ones which are tinker and necromancer.

For the same reason Death Knight is a very popular class. Undeads, vampires, corpses, eternal life, magic, power~ EDGY
Demons also are popular but for some reason WoW menaged to make them uninteresting visually. I dont like most of demonic servants~ the only cool ones are those more stereotypical like Imp, Succubus and Dreadlord. Demon Hunter failed to satisfy me as well~ but at least some people are happy

Id love a necro class/4rth spec ! It could work for a priest aswell not just warlock.
I have a better idea.

I disagree as it is in the schools of magic and where most warlocks come from and for necromancers, see Kel’thuzad. However, I see it being more of a warlock spec or a DK spec in gameplay terms.
I wish they release a spec who spread disease,decay and raise dead.
If only … oh wait …
Deathknight ARE the Necromancer of WoW, you dont need to create something news for “flavor” if it mean to totaly scrap a specs.
(Raise dead, plague, raise abomination, Army of the dead, raise ally, how can you make it more Necromancer ? And no, DK player dont want to play Ranged, otherwise they would be Afflilock)

People asking for necromancer and not playing Unholy Death Knight or Demonology warlock. Go play these.
And don’t tell me Unholy death knight isn’t a necromancer because he is 100% necromancer. Just the name is differents
