Broken stuff which will go live as it is on beta

WW on beta has insane burst like I already said but otherwise for sure outclassed by warrior. WW and War are rivalry classes the combs they play in are usually the same so it mostly depends who is better for their performances. In the last season it was WW for example.

If War gets nerfed then maybe both speccs go to S tier.

It will most likely be better in setup comps instead of melee cleave for example.

From personal play I wouldn’t think so there is a build for WW with Serenity+badge+kyrian+crit legendary which makes you do 18k crits on RSK and you can get about 3 RSK off on one target (crit legendary only stays for 6 sec)

This is broken indeed but damage and good utility is what WW has going atm for them. Their defensive however is somehow even worse than in BFA and sustain damage is kinda not there because Fists of Fury is insanely undertuned.

Warrior has defensive, sustain und even strong burst and literally better utility than WW. Only thing warrior don’t have is self healing I guess but tbh i’d trade ignore pain for Expel Harm anyday.

If you q beta and you fight a war as WW you will instantly notice the difference. Outside of Serenity you are literally running around doing nothing. And like BFA S1 these RSK crits will prolly last a week and then WW is D/C tier

This list however is 2 weeks old and hasn’t been updated ever since. Venthyr was still BIS and super broken for Monks like 3 weeks ago before they nerfed it by accordingly 90% the next week they released the video. Also Arenas on beta were unplayable for literally 3 weeks too.

It’s just outdated in this small circumstance which doesn’t justify it anyway

i thought that too until today but chun also did insane dmg with fists on me too. Games were over pretty fast because they were premade and i was with randoms so idk about their sustain but he had insane dmg for atleast 15 sec.

Yeah he was also among the first WW’s to actually playtest the serenity build. I’ve experimented with it already but couldn’t get myself to think it’s worth giving up SEF and WDP. But apparently this will be the meta build for WW as it stands and prolly will swap to SEF for more beefy teams which can easily negate the damage during Serenity.

Would’ve been interesting if he didn’t actually playtest it then prolly most WW’s would still play with SEF going into SL. But it’s interesting that I had similar ideas

It’s literally 12 seconds of huge burst splitted on 2 targets because the crit legendary debuff runs out after 6 seconds when you cast tiger palm so u just swap to another target and continue doing 18k Rising Sun Kicks there

I mean, most posts from you about WW monks that I can remember have been in the same style as that post, ever since WoD. It’s always that something is bad, and while it can become good by playing a specific style, it’s the bad stuff that makes it bad and never good. Even though it can work.

(It’s not a comment by me on SL viability, it’s just a demonstration of how the posts tend to go.)

yes idk there are still many cheesy builds on different specs.
I played my boomy a bit today and with kyrian, gladiators badge, incarn, starsurge leggo and the right talents i can do like 5 starsurges in a row(in like 8 sec) which crit for 15k to 20k(skyfury). Many specs still have cheesy builds with too many modifier. Outside of that boomy dmg is pretty low to be honest.

I think they should buff sustain dmg and lower burst dmg on all specs but i am afraid its too late for big changes like that. I hope in todays build there will be some tuning to pve trinkets and i hope before the season starts we will have some pvp specific tunings. If pve trinkets are nerfed and some classes get tuned i think we will have a really divers, fast and fun meta. Lets hope for the best.

It’s the same old cycle, people become upset about bursts early → they get ignored → the next wave of people upset about bursts steps in → people say it’s too late then.
Round and round it goes. It’s always “I hope the next patch will fix it”, and then “I hope the next expansion will fix it”, “it’ll be fixed in the expansion after this upcoming one”, and so on.

Yeah WW/Boomkin might be among the meta comb for boomkins especially. I played it with a rdruid yesterday and it’s beyond broken.

every rootbeam is literally either trinket or huge personal defensives otherwise you die, pair it with a disc or rsham and it can get disgusting.

But disc is insane you can get crosscc going and dark the WW during Serenity for extra 15% damage and you can back to back 20k rising sun kicks with 15k starsurges. The quality and synergy can get crazy if you are a bit coordinated. I just saw a Warrior dying at 40% through sac and hpal shield by starsurge.

Thinking about this makes me exciting to play ww/disc in 2s actually.

Regarding affliction slow it has to be there. without corruption slow , affliction will be removed from arenas again, having :100: uptime on affliction doesn’t even look fair. While Being slowed as a melee youll have to think when to press your freedom, trinket, port, roll, charge or etc… Melee’s love to stand and YOLO faceroll warlocks, and now it will become atleast fair to see these jumps not on healers to cc or teammates pressing dispels just for fun but to connect to target not just by running at max speed. It similar to frost mage slow, get use to it.

do they hit that hard in beta?
I don’t really play boomy but on current patch (ilvl 130 gear) my boomer crits for like 6k :x

Being slowed by a Frost Mage is a complete different thing than against warlocks. Frost Mages have to cast their spells to apply slows with a duration. It’s also what Frost is all about.

Affliction instant cast it and it is permanent. There is no logical reason for it to be permanent or why Affliction gets one of their main weakness covered by a legendary at all.

It should be nerfed to 8/6 sec duration at first. And then look how strong it still is.

I am also 100% certain they added back curse of exhaustion for a slow when you actually need it for yourself.

What did change in those 2 weeks did ww got nerft ?

So yesterday i saw trille do 3k dps in every single arena match vs snutz, magnuz and zeepy (1k higher than anyone else).
Then i come to the forums and i see a WW complaining and saying affliction can kite a WW.
cool.

i think you should play affliction for a few weeks and then comeback and complain about anything.
I guarantee you will complain, but about ww’s.

The beginning of s1 will be terrible, I guess we will not see any fix till the wow forum and Twitter will be spammed with a lot of twitch clip with one shot unfortunately.
