I want to buy so many things! But each quest only grants like 3 tokens and the transmog sets are at 60 tokens each, am I the only one that feels a little uncomfortable doing the exact same quests over and over and worrying that I will still not have enough tokens to buy the things I want by the end of the event?

After you get 100 items get cheaper especially buying the mog sets. There is a guide on Wowhead about it.

Ah I remember reading about that, so I guess itās better to save up for a while till you collect the first 100 tokens?

That is what i am going to do as i am same as you the grind is far to long for little reward, bad system to keep people subbed during event.

Aye the mount mania and fashion frenzy could have used a little more imagination, story time is alright but only 3 stories are recycling. Codex of Chromie I did it once today it was alright I guess, thankfully I only had to be in the queue for 1 min as a healer
Blackrock Depths I tried it today properly and I do really love that place as a raid, just that itās pretty hard. But it gives a genuine classic feel and I like that! People have no idea what they need to do most of the time though, bit hard for pug groups to tackle.

Im in the same state.
I want one of the Hallow`s End event mog and its 150.
I run around the world to get some candies and it give you 2-3, sometimes 0 per zone.
hopefully they will make it easy as it progresses just like the last event to get the currency .i really want to get the priest and druid set
Hereās the TLDR on the increased token acquisition and armor set discounts:
Collecting 100 tokens grants the Token Collector achievement and makes tokens obtainable from repeatable activities during the 20th Anniversary event (though Iām not entirely sure what activities exactly this refers to)!
The first tier 2 armor set bought will be 60 tokens and grant Upgraded Apparel achievement, the second will be 40 tokens and grant Classy Dresser achievement, and the 3rd and any after that will be 20 tokens!

I do feel that the correct approach for an anniversary-event like this, celebrating 20 years of WoW, should have been to shower everyone in tokens.
These rewards are so cool, of course people wants them, but again Blizzard is putting them behind a long, tedious grind and thus making making them come with a bit of a sour aftertaste. Just like Plunderstorm, just like Panda Remix.
People should remember this anniversary as fun. Not looking back with dread on how they burnt themselves out, trying to get all of the unique cosmetics during a limited time event - which should have been a celebration.

When you reach 100 tokens, the achievement unlocks repeatable Daily quests in the Event hub.

You donāt have to hold on to 100, it is tracked via an achievement.
The cost will go down to 60 and the I think 40 or 20 per set and you also have until Jan. so you have time.

In no way is this a tedious or a long grind. If you play alot you can get everything in two weeks.
If anything I would have it be harder so that the transmogs wont loose value.

486 tokens are required for everything. Iāve done the activities that award bronze and I have 33. Not done any raiding, so perhaps Iāve missed some there, but I fail to see what I could have done that would have awarded me 210 more this week, so that I can acquire the remaining 276 next week.

Hmm? How can you get everything in 2 weeks cuz I may have missed it.
As far as I know tokens are timegated currently, as in, you can get like 45 this week.
Maybe 50 if you get the PvP ones too.
Killing Ansurek gives three tokens - works even in LFR, worth considering.
I was disappointed we couldnāt even earn enough (legitimately) in the first week to buy one set.

I think itās suppose to take like 3 weeks to get the first set.
Itās been 1 week and I have have 30 from relaxing, so iām just chilling.
