7th solo shuffle in a row on my new 70 rogue… trying to get some points before reset.
Every time after 3-4 wins someone leaves in the last round, their rating 1500+ mine 300.
2h now of waiting and duelling, for nothing. Zero nada gains.
Can you make a simple change?
After every round players get points in a wallet.
If anyone leaves, they get nothing. Everyone else gets their wallet cashed out.
There. Fixed. No more collateral damage from losers being petty ragequit crybabies and wasting everyone elses time… how do you just allow this abuse?
I don’t care if my score goes up or down, I just want SOMETHING, anything that’s mine for MY TIME. God you devs are… can’t even fix this??

Just give account-wide Deserter Buff for leavers for 7 days of GAME TIME.

I used to see this in Hearthstone (it probably still is, but I don’t play HS anymore).
You set up for a big win, you’re just about to execute it and all of a sudden the opponent leaves the battle. It’s so disappointing for you, but from the opponents perspective what is the point of sticking around if the battle is already lost. Losing is boring, and they would rather get out of that situation and into a good one than have to sit around a watch someone else get all the glory. After all, at the end of the day, we are all playing to win.
It’s the same psychology here. The only difference is the result of the game. In HS, if your opponent leaves, you are declared the winner. In solo shuffle, if your opponent leaves, it’s game over and wasted time for everyone else.
So I don’t think punishing the player for leaving is the right solution here. And definitely not punishing the players who team mate left by giving them a loss, especially when they were up for finishing the fight.
Unfortunately, Blizzard doesn’t really like handing out freebie wins like your suggestion. Although it is a really good idea. They are more concerned about players finding a way to exploit it, which they will do.
Probably the best solution would be just to make Solo Shuffle a 1 round affair. Any player going to leave would only leave when the match is lost anyway.

deserter buff is not enough tbh, personally i find the whole rating system total toxic garbage and it needs a total rework. And for leavers reset their weekly vault or better yet just make rounds won count if some one leave’s, remove the leave option anything !
Maximum rating loss and an account wide deserter buff.
A hidden debuff on a weekly reset that makes players lose more rating and get increased deserter the more they leave.
That’s probably what I would have done.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few?

I dont know what a Solo Shuffle is, but if its something PvP, then why not just declare whatever is left the Winner? Like in most competetive games?
Points after each round so you get something even if another player wins. Also nothing for the leaver.
MMR drop for leaving and unable to gain MMR/conquest for increasing amount of matchups after leaving so you have to run solo shuffle without rewards for a while if leave.
Priority system where you gain minus points for leaving and players with higher points are prioritised for games and players with minus points can be grouped together to grief each other. Resets every week
In case of DC first leave of day is “free” with maximum of three leaves a week. If you keep disconnecting more then solo shuffle is unfortunately content you should engage with.

Yep, this is the change theyre making but I dont know why it hasnt been implemented yet. I suppose it will be due to win trading issues.
They also need to make leavers MMR go down as well as their CR.
People are arguing “what if theres a real life emergency and you have to leave?”. How often does that realistically happen? Almost never I suspect. Its currently getting abused because leavers dont lose MMR, so the amount of times a real life emergency made someone leave is probably 0.01% of the left games.
Issue is since you play 6 rounds with and against all combinations then it is open to abuse if you get credit when you leave. If you win the first three for example then you could leave and ‘take your winnings’ so to speak… But at the moment it is horrible… I play well over 20 games last week and I think three got to the end.
Amazing how it went live like this. They simply ignored 1 month of feedback from prepatch.

The wallet idea wouldn’t be a freebie, just a reward for each individual won round? It’s just splitting the end reward into 6 individual rewards?
The wallet idea is perfect!
Each individual round won carries a reward payable whether or not the match is won and whether or not the match is completed
Winning the match carries a bonus reward (like completing a random dungeon gives bonus XP for completion)
Completing the match while losing puts you in a better state than quitting it as you still count your individual wins
Please allow 1 against 1 arena, for people to have fun and enjoy their rogue and discipline priest all day. To duel and achieve pvp excellent. I do not care about any reward or gear, it is all useless. But the score bracket for 1 against 1, and official arena, this is nice to do! Balance, who cares about this. Pvp is never balance since years ago and even then it is bad.
I don’t know about the scoring condition, and the size of the points in my suggestion doesn’t matter, look at the ratio:
Winning a round could be +20 and losing -10.
The problem with this however is that someone good might make you lose 4 times and then just leave. So you are stuck with -40 points and he gets no punishment.
And I’m not keen on punishing leavers, because the game is glitchy and I too get dc a lot which wouldn’t be fair to anyone, eating their rating for a dc which is hard to proove being intentional or not.
So how about this then…
Every round a player gets +5 rating per round finished, and another +5 per win.
These points go to players ONLY IF someone leaves. No punishment for anyone.
If the match is fully finished, this “safety net score” is removed, and everyone gets the normal score whatever it might be.
This too poses a problem, highly unlikely, but still allows players to throw a game to make the other side gain free rating up. The odds of getting together more than once though should be too low for this to matter?
Pick your poison, just anything other than the current system would be better.

Simple fixes for solo shuffle and other pvp modes
Rewards given after each round and not before. Increase the reward for each round played. For example 10 conquest 10 honour then x1.5 or x2 for round 2 etc.
Leavers (DC or intentional since blizzard can not verify the difference) drop account ratings back/mmr to 0 including vault rating, revert pvp vault back to 0/3 after a chosen amount of constant DC’s/leaves as determined and kept secret by blizzard per day to be randomly changed per day or weekly reset, (Lower risk of being abused if this is not known to the public or streamers). Having this set over a week would leave it open to more abuse than having it as a daily random number.
Pvp Gear is rating locked so for example if you drop below x rating for level 3 upgrades your gear is reverted back to level 2 upgrades and such. Yes even though upgrade level does not apply to pvp it does apply to pve aspects. this would be a double blow to pvpers who leaver constantly.
You could combine both.
You get the change in rating per round, but if you give up before the entire game, you lose everything you have achieved in this match. Plus -200 rating on top.
