Buff Fury please

Fury is in a terrible place
anyone who says it is not is delusional it is the 3rd worse spec in sanctum
Arms gets hit with a massive Buff before patch while fury gets to rot
Come on Blizzard a little TLC please

Currently , there is no need to play fury except fun or leveling process , arms is better overall with the buff in PVE and PVP , fury needs a semi rework to get even close to arms

Arms is the worst spec I have ever played in WOW
I honestly would rather go back to WOTLK arcane than play Arms as it is such a boring spec to play

1 M+ NF is still great
2 Fury is statistacly the 3rd worst performer in sanctum

We’re only 3 weeks into the patch, you’re the one trolling here.

I’ll give my opinion about fury. I’m playing fury as my main, especially in M+. I dont lie, we’re doing really good in M+, actually kinda insane. You can do easily +18/+17 intime keys.

But even worse we are in raids. We really suffer there and we cant do anything. You are forced to play arms in raids. Lets be honest, the gamestyle of arms is in a terrible place.

In HC its enough, depends how it will be in mythic.

ok you have killed nothing in the raid
you killed nothing last tier
dont talk to me about trolling you whelp

The issue with fury is that it will be good…in some weeks. Not to mention fury needs 2 times KT weapon with at least 4 stacks. Yeah, that kinda explains why fury is still low rn.

This being said, fury is still better for M+ and heavy burst AOE fights (Yeah, there aren’t that many in sanctum)

Highest key +20 season 1
4/10 Mythic Nathria
10/12 Mythic Ny’alotha
4/10 HC Sanctum

Yes, my guild doesn’t do hardcore mythic raiding, but I’d say that the few kills I’ve done my parses are pretty decent, better than yours in fact. Also scored much higher in M+. If you want to e-peen on performance, you gotta try harder.

Fury requires the highest APM of all DPS specs while doing the least amount of damage in Sanctum of Domination according to WarcraftLogs…

TL;DR: don’t take early progression logs as the indicator that a spec sucks.

Don’t know if it’s highest APM tbh. Right now it’s lowest rank, and that’s heavily skewed. If it’s still lowest in a few weeks, then you can come to the conclusion that it’s most likely an issue.

These statistics should always be taken with a grain of salt early after a patch release, we don’t even have our full soulbinds yet. A few things that I think will change:

  • dual wielding Jaithys will increase DPS by quite some
  • gear has been fed to specific classes and people play specific roles because that’s required for progression
  • arms has 3x more parses than fury, this will change as soon as more people enter mythic

Some other things to note: the lower the percentile, the more average the logs, and you’ll see that fury isn’t far off many other specs, it’s the higher percentiles that make it look skewed because we’re early into progression.

If you take all percentiles, affliction is so far ahead that it would make you think it needs a 15~20% nerf, while if you look at 99% percentile, it’s on par with windwalker.

For progression people play arms because arms simply has a better damage profile during progression with venthyr and the venthyr legendary. Most boss fights are single target or two/three target cleave.

Not everyone wants to switch covenants for progression or raiding. Fury is very good for M+, and it takes a bit for NF to catch up when used in raid vs venthyr, which falls off in M+ afaik. I’ve personally just swapped to Kyrian to see what it’s like for M+ and raiding, but that also means that my logs will be bad until I get my renown back up and my legendary. Granted, I’ve gone from 0 to 34 renown yesterday, it will mean that I won’t be at full strength for my next raid for example. I can imagine that people who swapped earlier also influenced those logs.

I’m pretty sure we’ll scale kinda good in the late game. Imagine playing with 2x 252 weapons. My biggest issue for months is getting any weapons. I have 2x 220 which is really bad. Gonna be interesting when I get them since our dps in M+ is impressive already.

So do all melee classes with the best weapons in the game… having to progress to the 2nd to last boss to MAYBE have the weapons to drop to MAYBE do decent damage AFTER you had to upgrade them just feels like garbage tbh, don’t you think?

And it’s also not like Fury will go from currently last place in Sanctum of Domination to the first. It will MAYBE be decent, AT BEST. But without any buffs, I doubt even that.

The issue is that fury has a good scaling, so buffing that spec could result in this being really op. It’s quite “dangerous” to buff fury, so to say.

I’m not so sure about that.
Even after all the buffs we got at the start of castle nathria we are back at the bottom again.
And our single target still wasnt good in 9.0.5.

Sinful Surge is great in theory and still pretty good in practice but most fights just disrupts it so you dont get the value out of it since it’s only effective above 80 and below 35 and those are the shortest phases of an encounter.

Personally I would have liked Sinful Surge to simply make Condemn give you 2 seconds of recklessness instead of just extending it. Giving you some more value if a mechanic makes you drop recklessness or you get a Sudden Death proc.

Sinful Surge just further emphasize Fury’s weakness, “Downtime”.
While all dps specs suffer during downtime Fury doesn’t have any big burst to make a come back afterwards. Instead we have ramp up time to generate rage and start up enrage again.

We don’t need another aura buff that will mess up AoE, we need something targeted for single target and something that mitigate the problems we have with downtime.
Perhaps something with inspiration from frost dks cold heart talent?
If we are in combat but havent used offensive abilities for a few seconds we gain a stacking buff and generate some rage, or something. Some passive rage generation when you cant hit stuff would really help in intermission phases where you can’t hit anything but take damage so we can use ignore pain atleast.

In the end its a class design flaw that doesnt go well with current encounter designs.

I still don’t understand why they buffed cleave only through whirlwind in 8.0 instead of buffing the ST skills and let it use increased cleave through whirlwind…

We got several small spec aura buffs.
In one of them they lowered Whirlwind damage to compensate for the buffs since we cleave all our ST attacks with it.
Our AoE was fine already so they wanted to avoid it getting too good.
In the next aura buff they excluded Bladestorm and Dragons roar for the same reason, our AoE is great, both sustained and burst.

So a buff to our single target abilities would probably result in a further nerf to whirlwind to compensate. Which is why I’d like to see a solution that only affects ST.
But for that to happen they would have to add something new to fury.
The only thing I can think off that would not affect AoE with be something that is tied to auto attacks, buff to AA damage or something like Reckless Flurry.
Or some sort of aura that increase damage based on number of enemies near you, 1 enemy = max bonus damage.
