Buff Timewalking

Timewalking is too easy and that makes it dull. Meanwhile, the m plus rotation of dungeons become stale long before the season ends. If Timewalking was buffed to the equivalence of a 10 or higher, the increased challenge would be more engaging.
Each Timewalking event could have a collectable cosmetic set earned by completing the dungeons, similar to challenge mode dungeons.

I’m the opposite, keep it as it is, makes it a nice fast efficient method to do them. The challenge isn’t welcome in such trivial casual content.

I would like to see all the dungeons included rather than just a selection though.

We could still have heroic Timewalking. What I’m suggesting is a challenge version that sat along side it played as an alternative to M10 ish dungeons that came with the bonus of cosmetic rewards. If I’d appreciate more challenging Timewalking and cosmetics, then other people would as well.

Akin to how they have put old dungeons into the M+ rotation?

Yes, we’d have all of them and on rotation with the timewalking event.

I think that sounds just fine. You would have normal TW for people who want it the same and then challenge mode, which is also perfectly doable by the same people if it were to be like the lower end of M+.

So now the question is, would you want it to be part of LFD and randomised or manual group finding? I always prefer LFD, as it would incentivise me to actually do the content and people wouldn’t avoid certain dungeons quite as much, I think. I’m going to do the “new” HC dungeons on S4 for example.

An additional mode wouldn’t interfere with those of us that just want to do the weekly quest or use it to level sounds like a much better solution. :dracthyr_nod: Even if I’d have to run them all to get my tmog :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Definitely dungeon finder. I was thinking it would be without a timer or affixes and about a 10 difficulty so dungeon comp and picking meta wouldn’t be relevant.

I believe that is what the new HC dungeon mode will be in S4 so I’d be pretty happy with that. Be nice for a change, too and getting some rep for old content. No timers or affixes just properly scaled dungeons. I loved the changes to the Vash’jir dungeon.

Timewalking is not meant to be a heroic level slog, it’s designed to be blasted through quickly as possible giving players a little blast of nostalgia.

What I would do though. Is keep some of the old memories alive of people who obviously didn’t play the dungeons when they were current getting faceplanted by bosses because they are TOO overconfident.

Case in point, Forge of Souls last boss and his mirror technique, Pit of saron garfrost before it was hard nerfed when players ignored the saronite chunk mechanic and died in seconds…

Oh please put halls of reflection in the next roster shake up…

That was always a fun dungeon.

Yeah, they may not all make the cut.

I see a problem with this though… A +10 is still zugzug for a lot of people even with a long time towards the end… If its a queable instance, I am afraid that it will lead to a lot of toxicity.

Even currently, I see from time to time people being kicked when doing the spider dungeon from Wrath, because they die after second boss, while everyone else just runs and jumps down…

Now imagine that your suggestion of putting a cosmetic behind the event, and having zugzug fully BiS geared people getting a group with someone that is +10 appropriate… It will be a kick-fest and “omg uninstall the game pls” etc. just like it is pugging lower keys.

People don’t have patience when they feel they are “wasting time”, and I bet almost everyone that has tried playing LFG M+ for a while, has at least 1 story of toxicity / elitism, even in instances where the group was doing more than okay for the level they were at.

That I would be interested in. Keep the easy zergable tw dungeons but give us a choice to Q for harder ones in a premade group. I like the reward of a unique transmog set, maybe a mount for those that complete all TW events on heroic.

I can easily see what you describe happening. But I’m sure there’s some combination of system design and player good will that will allow it to work for most people most of the time.

Isn’t that just M+? They are re-introducing old dungeons in some of the seasons?

What you’re asking for, is literally tune every dungeon to current M+ standards, without it being M+… That time will be taken from somewhere else, and thats problematic.
Dungeons don’t go flawless through the entire season, therefore imagine, if the devs would have to spend time re-tuning TW dungeons to a +10 instead of fixing tuning problem / bugs with current M+ pool or delay those…

In an ideal world, of course more dungeons and more content would be cool, but a non-scaleable dungeon, that is time gated, with cosmetic rewards, will most likely just be toxicity.
Current TW, even if you face tank boss mechanics, you probably wont die… now imagine a new player wiping the group because he didn’t know… Most likely people will just kick him and que for a new dps, as they will get one instantly.

I would much rather have the devs work on continuous class tunings in PVP / PVE current content, rather than having to go full force, onto tuning bugs, numbers, mobs for dungeons so they are “+10 like” for cosmetics… Again, had it been for the challenge, they could do maybe a raid etc.
But even in current content people were farming +11’s in like 15 mins time for crests, what makes you believe the “harder TW” isn’t just going to be a fly through for 4/5 of the players in grp?

Some people will complete them very quickly. It’s not meant to be a mountain to climb, just a hill to enjoy the view from.

But then I don’t really see the point?

I get the nice to have of it, but I don’t see why they should spend ressources on tuning every old TW dungeon, when essentially they won’t be done after people get the reward… Maybe people will do 1-2 when bored at the end of a season, but I don’t see why people would do Vault of the Wardens “hard mode” when there is nothing to gain, when they can just do normal TW for the weekly in less time?

Again, I understand the nostalgic element of replaying the dungeons with a bit more challenge to enjoy them more, rather than fly through, but they are already implementing old dungeons in M+ pools, and I see more cons related to them trying to do it, than I see pros

EDIT: If we look at the Mythic weekly, we see the mentality I’m referring to when I say majority probably wont be bothered after getting the rewards.
In Legion people literally just formed groups to do 4x Maw of Souls 0, instead of doing keys on a harder level… So I don’t see people being bothered doing hard mode, when they can get the reward faster in normal TW

There’s no loot, it’s for cosmetics and to add dungeon variety to the end game.

I tanked a few timewalking dungeons today. In two of them I had kamikaze mad men go off and I kid you not. pull 6-7pack at a time in the wrong direction. And then pile them on top of me.

One such escapade was accompanied by another player telling me I’m an idiot for pulling so much and should learn to play.

No thanks if anything I think this game mode should be deleted

 That sounds pretty wild. I’ve been tanking one or two a day to earn the badges and groups are a real mixed bag. Hang in there.
