Buffs / Debuffs

How do you guys organise your Buffs / Debuffs?

I’m using ElvUI to make them simple enough: Buffs at the bottom, defbuffs at the top, at a maximum row of 10.

It’s annoying because obviously I get more than 10 of buffs often and it’s hard to track certain buffs that I need to look out for.

It is hard to track outlaw buffs. This spec is one of the hardest spec in all class specs.

Did you ever consider to play a DH or maybe rogue other specs? Sub rogue very fun to play and you can feel comfortable after 1 week open world practice. Their damage is not less than Outlaw.

I use Weakauras.

If you download the Weakauras addon and then go to wago. io or Google ‘buff name weakaura’ you should be able to find what you’re looking for.

Not going to lie I have been thinking about it. I am actually thinking about DK or DH.

OR is still fun to play but can get tiresome.

One of the worst things in the world is messing with how buffs show up on your screen haha.

Weakauras.

I do not recommend DK for new players. It is a very slow class and can create problems. Everything will be already dead until you reach combat area. However, DH is cut out for new players.

If you don’t like DH class fantasy or how they look, you can seriously consider playing a WW monk. Little more complicated and little less damage than DH, but very comfortable to play. You will immediately see your damage in the damage meters when you hit something. And they are fast, very fast. Like speed of light.

After gaining practice on WW monk, you can safely jump to the sub rogue. You will notice they are very similar.

Yeah I don’t like it either, but it doesn’t take long to get used to once you’ve found a position you’re comfortable with.

Only two classes/specs scream “New Player”.
Fury warrior.
BM Hunter.
Both 3-4 buttons, both loved by the dev’s, both perform descent-good in every content type, always.

I know many old/veterans who tried those and can’t play properly.

For example, I can never deal admissible damage on Fury Warrior and I never liked any pet classes. Most likely I am bad.

It is not a wise idea to recommend to a new player a fury warrior who struggles keep tracking buffs on an Outlaw rogue.

What buffs are there to track on Fury?
I play it now as alt and I played it entire BFA and SL…

Littarly all you do is your burst macro (4 buttons into one macro) and spam Raging Blow into Rampage when it lights up…
It is the pinnacle off ZugZug .

I don’t know, fury was hard to play for me. I am bad I think.

Happens, maybe it wasn’t your playstyle.
But if he plays Rogue and he likes the playstyle, Fury is the closest thing too a rogue. Same speed, same mobility, less complex.

The thing is, he is struggling on a rogue. I, myself learned for a very long time how to play a rogue except Outlaw  All he needs is some instant damage, like DH, like WW monk I suppose. To see yourself on damage meters on fury warrior is not that easy.

But he is not struggling due the speed nor playstyle.
He is struggling with buff management which is everything as an Outlaw rogue.
Fury doesn’t really have any buff to manage except their once a minute CD button, their “Enrage” mechanic refreshes everything you press Rampage, so there is really nothing to keep track off.

I disagree.
Fury is easy to learn, easy to deal moderate damage, It has a “moderate” skill ceiling if you start min maxing.

But I also find Arcane Mage not that challenging either, so that might just be me :man_shrugging:

(Btw, WW monk is much harder then Fury)

Mage specs, generally all casters are hard to play. I learned Destro warlock on SL season 4, was OP, but staying on the same spot and trying to cast something and see the damage on the meter if it is not interrupted with a mechanic is a “play difficulty”. Hit and see the results is better but game designers are very anti-melee for sure.

How is WW monk much harder than Fury? I read the forum for long time but sometimes I think I am playing different game than posters. Maybe this shows the quality of WoW. Staying in enrage window is not that easy for me. And staying in enrage window is very similar to outlaw.

WW monk has a pre-pull setup rotation, also has Chi charges to keep track off, depending how many your priority changes slightly.
Depending what skills you Talent it changes aswell, for example Bonedust brew etc…

Fury is > Charge on pull > Throw all your CDs > Spam RB for rage > Rampage > Repeat RB into Rampage spam.

No matter what you do, it doesn’t change.
Fury warrior is zugzug 2 buttons + 1 (or 2 if you really want) cooldown macros.
