Bug 9.2 : Grappling Hook fail

Heyo

Since 9.2 i got 2 chance out of 3 that Grappling Hook fail

Everywhere
And it’s not due to internet or performance,
It’s like you cast it, the animation is working but the pulling merely never work

Am i alone that it fail like 75% of the time pulling ?

It’s extremely annoying.

yes i have the same issue

That is absolutely the case and i’ve already reported it as a bug.
Although i’ve noticed that the times it doesn’t work are due to your character clipping the environment. Which makes me think it might have been an intentional nerf off the record to prevent exploits.

Downside of that is it treats all cases the same, Aka: if your hook makes you pass through graphics (even slightly uneven-dunelike environment) then it won’t pull you through.

And same, to add to it.

Completely breaks the ability unless there’s a perfect, completely clear visual from you to the target.
Not sure what they’re attempting to stop if it’s an intentional change. Anywhere you could get with grapple in ZM you can do via venthyr/glider/leap/gateway/etcetcetc …

Its due to line of sight or something along those lines, playing my rogue the last week or so and noticed that the same problem occurs with grip / druid leap to allies

it happened in an arena when i had full line of sight on the terrain infront of me too, very fun how they broke it.

The bug is also affected with Demonic Gate of Warlock

So it’s more a movement of the character issue

This is exactly what demonic gateway suffered with some time back and it appears the same issue has returned with both gateway and grappling hook .

It’s a pathing issue where the spell first identifies the location as within reach for spell but doesn’t decide it’s got a path until animation/ cast time is completed. I believe this is to try stop bugs like falling into the ground happening but it’s yet again a badly done bandaid
